The video opens with some text behind a blank black screen then the protagonist throughout the clip is introduces. A mid shot of her face is revealed in an urban, run down area, this instantly gives you an idea of what this character is like. The shot also goes with the lyrics, “look, who's that girls their”, which creates an instant link to the song.

The clip has a whole range of different shot angles, tilts and movements, the transitions between each one is mainly clean cuts with the camera spending a very shot amount of time at each scene. Some scene are used more than once however many different locations are used which creates it much more interesting for the audience.

Close up or mid shots are repeated through out the clip of the protagonists face, this reassures the audience that she is the main character and highlights how she is feeling through her expression in each of her close up shots.

Another shot featured in this video that I really like is the idea of the camera on the dash board and filming the road, the shutter speed is used to give the effect of the streaming lights. These style of shots are also used at the upbeat, fast sections of the soundtrack which really goes with the song.

Again, in the clip more mid shots are revealed of the protagonists face, this lets the audience know how she is feeling and gives the effect of following her through her life and experiences. I also like how they have used a character that fits to the actual song and all the props and costume choices have been made of purpose to fit.

More location shots are revealed consistently through out the clip, I aspire to have just as many in my music video as I feel as if it give variety and really underlines the camera skills used as it gives perfect opportunities for different style shots.

In this music video there are also specific scenes that I feel look effective and give opportunity for visual effects or simply just different style shots, for example I feel as if having a fight scene could be an opportunity for a hand held camera or even tilted up or down shots to reveal the power between the characters.

Again the shots revert back to the fast, shuddery movement of the camera when its being filmed in a car, with the varying shutter speed of the street and car headlights.I love this technique and wish to use it in my own music video as I feel its really effective and looks good.

The clip even has a lot of variation with the lighting, most is filmed in natural light, first outdoor daylight then some is shot at night with natural low light, however it does look as if some artificial studio lighting has been used when the natural light is not bright enough. However in this shot you can see how the natural light of the streetlamp has been used.

Finally, at the end of the video it reverts back to the protagonists face, where she looks the same as she did in the first opening shot, she is even wearing the same costume which gives an indication of how she is not very well off. The whole look of this character however really does relate to the lyrics of the song.
