BRIEF HEADING /SUMMARY… This adds even more information to the contents page. However, it appears to be less important information but the use of ‘Plus’ makes it seem more exciting and better than it probably is.

IMAGE HAS BEEN EDITED… This image looks like it is a photograph stuck in. This is a appropriate as it reflects being on tour, taking photographs and bands ect; a memory. The tilt on the photo makes it look fun and exciting.

EDITORS INTRODUCTION TO MAGAZINE… This lets the reader know even more of what is included in the magazine. It also makes the magazine seem more personal as it feels the editor is directly talking to you: making the magazine seem friendly and approachable.

PREVIOUS/FUTURE EDITIONS… This is an information box for the NME subscription. It includes important information for contacting NME. It also stands out and looks exciting, grabbing the readers attention and making them want to subscribe to NME. The use of small images adds balance to the page- and the box they’re in- so they doesn’t look like there is as much text as there is.

The use of small images adds balance to the page so there doesn’t look like there is as much text as there is. The banner makes it stand out more and it also fits the colour scheme of the magazine.

BANNER… This tells us what page it is and makes the page easy to find and see. ‘CONTENTS’ is big and bold so it stands out and makes the page look full. The colours, again, fit the colour scheme. The font used is the same as the Title font of the magazine and has a ‘broken’ effect.

CONTENTS PAGE ANALYSIS

IMAGE CAPTIONS… These act as a way of telling the audience more about what are in the features of the magazine. They help describe and aid the audience. They also show specific aspects that are not featured on the page lists.

IMAGES… Instead of there being one main image and a few smaller ones there are six equal size images. This shows what’s featured in the magazine and the range of things there is. All the shots are different and of different things, perhaps suggesting versatility within the magazine. They also help the audience see what will be included in each feature.

FREE CDS BANNER… This looks bright and stands out, making the offer look more attractive and better than it probably is. ‘free cds’ is in a different font and colour making them seem exciting and even better because they’re free. Again, this banner fits the colour scheme of the magazine.

CLASSIC FM MASTHEAD… This is the logo for Classic FM. It is easily recognisable and identifiable. It sets the theme for the magazine, reveals the colour scheme and gives us a clue as to what to expect in the magazine.

HEADINGS/SUB HEADINGS… This tells us what page it is and makes the page easy to find and see. The red colour makes the section stand out and makes it easy to find what you want. These fit the colour scheme of the magazine and make the magazine look professional and classy- fitting the theme of the magazine also.

BACKGROUND… The background may seem plain at first but it’s clear the reason it’s white is because it’s a classic colour and fits in with the classic theme of the magazine. It also makes the magazine look more professional and appropriate for the target audience (younger audiences would find this too boring).

SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION… This almost resembles a flasher. Giving information quickly and in an exciting way. There's little information but the bold, red font makes it stands out and look exciting and like it’s a good offer.
