Analyis Of Problem

After the problem was identified, information gathering had to take place in order for a proper solution to be identified. This was done using the following methods:

1. Interview of Student2. Interview of Staff Member3. Distribution of Questionnaires to Members of Staff and Student Body.

The purpose of each method is as follows:

1. Interview of Student: This interview allows the researcher to obtain information from someone who the problem that was identified affects directly and on a day-to-day basis. Also allows the researcher to see how the problem affects the Students on a whole.

2. Interview of Staff Member: This interview once again allows the researcher to obtain information from someone who the problem that was identified affects on a daily basis. Also allows the researcher to see how the problem affects the school’s Staff on a whole.

3. Distribution of Questionnaires To Staff and Students: Allows researcher to obtain objective information from participants affected by the problem in a timely manner.

From the student interview, it was established that student body was being adversely affected by a general lack of access to important information pertaining to the school’s activities. The following is a sample of the questions which the student was asked:

1. Have you ever used the Manning’s School website? If no, say why. 2. Do you think information pertaining to the school is being transferred at a high rate

of efficiency?3. Do you think Manning’s should make the transition from its current traditional way

of transmitting information to a more modern, digitized way?4. What do you think are two problems that you think are brought about by the

current information transmission system in the school?5. How do you think the students would benefit if the school introduced a more

efficient means of information transmission?

From the answers of the student it was garnered that the current means of information transmission within the school is not based on a schedule and is dependent on whenever the executive staff decide to relay the new information via public announcements every Wednesday

at general assembly. Other, less important information is often placed on posters around the school grounds. The interview also showed that students have to either ask other students or go directly to the administrative staff if they have forgotten any of the announcements as the information announced is not stored anywhere that is accessible to the student body or the parents of students.
