a spatio-temporal continuum through an incidental open ended conversation

Transcript of An unfamiliar ground

a new acquaintance...an unfamiliar ground... an intriguing journey...

Walking down a a busy street, I turned the corner, into a silent lane. This was a unique one. One edge of it, a seven feet wall all the way down the street, till my eyes could reach. The other side depicting a timeline of built spaces. Few steps ahead brought me to an entrance - a historic Friedhof.to an entrance - a historic Friedhof.

...a solemn place, I was discreet in my body language and facial expression to avoid offending any. Proceeding into this precinct, the entourage transitioned into different shades & tones, coloured by my perception.

Further encounters, reconstructed the image, questioned my insight, challenged my mental disposition and augmented the character of the space.

Enroute, I observed a private conversation and just a few steps ahead, a contrasting spectacle; an anonymous identity with no audience.

Mulling over what I had experienced so far, I reached yet another crossroad. The rhythm began to change; light worked its magic, hues altered and new vistas opened. The closeness of the preceding experience now transformed into a another scale.

A distinct contrast in the image of my perception. The intimate scale of the preceeding dialogue now moulded into an expansive one; to initiate a conversation with a neighbourhood and further to a city.

Every experience exclusive to its context, offers an opportunity ....

The freedom to wander...... a moment to reflect.

... meander, explore, inquire, derive

... engage, experience, learn, imbibe

... recognise, analyse, contemplate

... the existent & beyond
