    In terms of regional UK private equity M&A trends, the graph here demonstrates just how dominant

    London and the South East continues to be. The Midlands, which

    previously had a thriving due diligence scene, has seen much of this

    business migrate south to London.

    However, venturing further North, Manchester is home to a quietly thriving M&A scene – albeit one that has shouldered a heavy hit from Covid-19. The

    table above shows that in terms of deals completed (as of early October), the North East saw the smallest decline in deal volume – behind only the

    Republic of Ireland and Wales, though total deal value receded 71.41%.
