Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! ALL: Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! ALL: the earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, has blessed us. Leader: God has blessed us; ALL: let all the ends of the earth fear God! (Lectionary Psalm for the 6 th Sunday of Easter) *Hymn 185 When Morning Gilds the Skies Prayer (in unison) Faithful and loving God, we bring our fragmented lives into the presence of your wholeness. We bring our wandering thoughts into your eternal light. We bring our restless spirits into the calming strength of your grace. We give you thanks because even in the moments of great anxiety, when the threads of our lives are hanging loose, chaotic and disconnected, we can be condent that you are with us. We’re too busy to stop, hurling ourselves through life, weary from holding up a big section of the sky. We confess… and we confess again… we have labored under the assumption that the way to nd rest for our souls is to nish our list of things to do and present it to you like a book. Forgive our compulsiveness. We forget that your grace envelops us. Oh God, remind us that we do not have to go it alone. When we look down the road we see Jesus, waiting to heave the weight of our load onto his shoulders. In your mercy, Lord, we claim your grace. Amen. Hymns of Grace Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (#349) Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace. Sixth Sunday of Easter May 26, 2019 8:30 & 10:45 a.m. Paraments – White/Gold Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing (#400) Come, thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by aming tongues above. Praise the mount! I’m xed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love. O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be! Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here’s my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above. Blessed Assurance (#369) Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of his Spirit, washed in his blood. (Refrain)This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long; this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long. Perfect submission, all is at rest; I in my Savior am happy and blest, watching and waiting, looking above, lled with his goodness, lost in his love. (Refrain) I Am Thine, O Lord (#419) I am thine, O Lord, I have heard thy voice, and it told thy love to me; but I long to rise in the arms of faith and be closer drawn to thee. (Refrain) Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, to the cross where thou hast died. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, to thy precious bleeding side. Consecrate me now to thy service, Lord, by the power of grace divine; let my soul look up with a steadfast hope and my will be lost in thine. (Refrain) There’s Within My Heart a Melody (#380) There’s within my heart a melody Jesus whispers sweet and low: Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still, in all of life’s ebb and ow. (Refrain) Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know, lls my every longing, keeps me singing as I go. Feasting on the riches of his grace, resting neath his sheltering wing, always looking on his smiling face, that is why I shout and sing. PREACHING IN THE VINE: Rev. Will Lauderback

At Roar! kids discover that God is good even when life gets wild! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Wild Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Safari Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Kids at Roar! VBS will join a missions effort to provide nutrition packets and health checkups for moms and babies in need in Zambia, Africa.

Roar! is for kids from 3 years to 6th grade, June 24-28, and will run from 9 a.m. to Noon each day. Sign up at www.fi rstcentenary.com/children.
