DYNAFEC® is one of those T-CHIP® programmable features thatprovides a flexible forward error correction (FEC) solution that

allows Ekinops to maintain its industry-leading FEC performance.Most equipment providers utilize a FEC technology on a non-programmable chip; which they typically purchase from anothervendor.

This limits them to only providing what is available on the markettoday, and then forcing their customer to wait (typically 6-12 months)to repurchase new hardware as a new FEC technology improves.At Ekinops, we can adapt and make changes to our FEC by simplyintroducing new software (a remote T-CHIP® upgrade process).

At times, low latency can be a key element to a business application — milliseconds can make the difference.

Ekinops 360 supports ultra low-latency networking solutions that were designed to provide you the absolute lowestlatency when transporting your business critical data. We can also work with you to balance your latency requirements withother essential network characteristics to provide an optimized optical transport solution.

Many of today’s enterprise solutions are supported with a large, bulkyequipment which is not ideal for all business applications.

The Ekinops 360 system offers avariety of small, compact devices;from 1RU device that supportsboth 10x10 muxponder and100G transponder in one, to a

2RU (C200HC) and 7RU (C600HC) chassis that also offer muxponderand transponder capabilities, as well as the ability to support manyadditional applications (WDM, DWDM, FOADM, ROADM) and services(SONET/SDH, Ethernet, SAN, Video, OTN).

For operational ease and efficiency, all of Ekinops solutions maintaincommon software, hardware and feature capability (T CHIP ®,DYNAFEC®,… etc).

The platform allows you to start small (1RU supporting 100G), whilemaintaining the ability to grow into a super-capacity, multi-terabitsystem. Ekinops also offers extended temperature range (ETR) solutionsto accommodate those business applications where a temperaturecontrolled environment is not available, and to upgrade the existingfacilities would be time consuming and costly.

Even though network designs can appear to be complicated attimes, planning and designing the network should not be.

Ekinops experienced Network Design Engineers and its e•DESIGNTool allow us to work with our customers to premodel the networkprior to physical deployment. The sophisticated e•DESIGN Toolsimplifies the process of inputting operator network requirements(locations, services, fiber types,… etc). This saves time, providesplanning accuracy, and allows for a convenient method forcomparing multiple models that are currently under consideration.When the final design is identified, the tool provides the outputsand records (documentation, drawings, etc.) for the next stage ofdeployment and support.

Ekinops also pre-stages and pre-configures (to include slot and wiringof service cards) your entire system before it leaves our facility. Thisnot only significantly reduces the cost of deployment by reducing the

technician’s time for initial installation, turn-up and test, but italso insures that Ekinops maintains its market-leading productreliability.
