Annual Appeal 2019 It’s hard to believe that two decades have passed since my year of service with FrancisCorps in Syracuse. I served at the Northside CYO the inaugural year of the program alongside four other volunteers (who I am so blessed to say are some of my dearest friends). I have always looked upon that year as an investment in my life’s journey that has connued to impact my life in ways that I am sll discovering many years later. I oen reflect on three things that FrancisCorps has helped to shape in my life: community, service and prayer. These three spiritual focuses have indeed altered my journey forever. Living in an intenonal Chrisan community has shaped me as a disciple and I truly believe when you encounter real Chrisan community, you will never sele for less. Service is an integral part of our responsibility as disciples and FrancisCorps has helped me to find real joy in serving others. It also challenged me to connually seek out ways to serve no maer where I am. Love is only real when we share it with those around us. Prayer helps me to always strive to be in right relaonship with our Creator. This is what helps me to find meaning on the journey. Culvang my personal and communal prayer life is a life-long pursuit. FrancisCorps inslled these three core values in me. If these are some of the values that our volunteers carry forth into world, how can we go wrong? Thank you for your support and investment that provides transformaonal experiences for FrancisCorps volunteers every year! P.S. Mike is currently the Director of Campus Ministry at the Hall Newman Center at SUNY Oswego and the Associate Director of Campus Ministry for the Diocese of Syracuse. Annual Appeal 2019

It’s hard to believe that two decades have passed since my year of service with FrancisCorps inSyracuse. I served at the Northside CYO the inaugural year of the program alongside four othervolunteers (who I am so blessed to say are some of my dearest friends). I have always lookedupon that year as an investment in my life’s journey that has connued to impact my life in waysthat I am sll discovering many years later. I oen reflect on three things that FrancisCorps hashelped to shape in my life: community, service and prayer.

These three spiritual focuses have indeed alteredmy journey forever. Living in an intenonalChrisan community has shaped me as a discipleand I truly believe when you encounter realChrisan community, you will never sele for less.

Service is an integral part of our responsibilityas disciples and FrancisCorps has helped me tofind real joy inserving others.

It also challenged me to connually seek out ways to serve nomaer where I am. Love is only real when we share it withthose around us.

Prayer helps me to always strive to be in right relaonshipwith our Creator. This is what helps me to find meaning on thejourney. Culvang my personal and communal prayer life is alife-long pursuit.

FrancisCorps inslled these three core values in me. If theseare some of the values that our volunteers carry forth intoworld, how can we go wrong? Thank you for your supportand investment that provides transformaonal experiencesfor FrancisCorps volunteers every year!
