Our MISSION
Holy Light Theological Seminary is a Free Methodist
Seminary with an Evangelical Wesleyan tradition. The mission of the Seminary is to:
Equip pastors and ministers for the church of God
Proclaim Christ’s salvationPlant and develop the
Chinese churchesTrain Christians and lay
leaders

Church of Jesus Christ by preparing
men and women called to fulfill Christ’s Great
Commission as effective and spiritually mature

Our HERITAGE & DEVELOPMENTIn 1955, James H. Taylor II, grandson of James Hudson Taylor (founder, China Inland Missions) establishedHoly Light Theological Seminary.
The Seminary is affiliated with the China Free Methodist Church in Taiwan, and serves all denominations.
Currently, Holy Light
has over 1000 graduates serving mostly in Taiwan,
other Asian countries,
North America, Europe,
Australia and New Zealand.

Our LOCATIONThe Seminary is
strategically located in Kaohsiung, the largest port city in southern Taiwan.
Holy Light enjoys the benefits of a city with growing industry and international trade market; therefore, providing students with global perspectives and cross-cultural
exposure.

practical ministry and missions courses, students are trained for effective
ministry to the church and the world.

ACCREDITATION
Holy light Theological Seminary is an accredited member of the Asia Theological Association, an association composed of “theological educational institutions, committed to evangelical faith and scholarship, which are networking together, to serve the Church in equipping the people of God for the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
In addition, Holy Light Theological Seminary is a member of the Association of Theological Seminary in Taiwan.
The program of the Seminary is strengthened bypartnership with six other seminaries in Hong Kong,Korea and the United States of America.
