These students have competed in a homeroom oral

spelling bee and a vocabulary bee to reach the position of

“Top 25 CNMS Spellers” who will now compete in the final

oral spelling bee on Thursday, December 5th for the title of

“CNMS Champion Speller.”

those families that have already paid. Student re-

ceive receipts on Thursdays.

Feathers for Families During the week of November 18th, the Student Council is planning to sell feathers

for $1.00 during lunch periods. When you buy a feather, you get to put it on the

teacher’s turkey that you would most like to see wearing a turkey costume the day

before Thanksgiving Break. All proceeds will go to help CNMS families in need this

holiday season.

CNMS HEADLINES

Our first meeting of the MathCounts club was last Tues-

day, Nov. 5th. There was a total of 34 students in

grades 6, 7, and 8 attended. MathCounts is under the

direction of Ms. Hulse. The meetings are held every

Tuesday (November - March) from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in

Room 308. And, it is not too late to join the group!

The format of the evening contains a math lesson,

independent and group problem solving, and quick con-

tests. Students can expect assignments that are above

and beyond current classroom work. You don’t have to

know it all because we will teach you. If you like chal-

lenging problems and math, no matter your skill level,

you might find it fun. These meetings are not for home-

work help!

Parents are encouraged to accompany their child to

brush up on math skills and bring insight to our activi-

ties. Come join the Math Fun!

cafeteria account in the form of a check, cash, or you can

Please note that when a student drops to a negative

$10.00 account balance, he/she will not be able to pur-

chase a regular school lunch.

Friends Facing Fears By the 2018-19 CNMS generationOn Club

The CNMS generationOn Club members wrote, illustrat-ed, and published the book, Friends Facing Fears. The authors and illustrators give insight on how to overcome common fears faced by people of all ages. This book makes a great Christmas gift and can be pur-chased for only $10 a copy. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Warrick County. Approximately 650 children born in or after 2017 are receiving a book each month and funds are needed to keep the books coming.
