QUESTION 6:
An Ideal Roommate
Living far away from home four or even five years for studying in colleges or universities,
many students have to adapt themselves with many changes. One of these changes is living or
sharing a dorm-room with a completely strange personl ike a stranger. What are qualities that
they want their desired roommates possess? Lets examine some following suggestions.
Firstly, a good roommate should be compatible. Students have to face with a lot of stressful
things when coping with academic subjects in their classes or dealing with a new
environment. They desire their roommate be an understanding and dedicated person, with
whom they can feel more relaxed and comfortable whenever they are together: talking,
learning, or even moaning. Also, living with a roommate who has many things in common
would be more ideal for them, making their life, which seems very challenging and laborious,
more meaningful and memorable. It also helps them avoid lots of trouble. For example, they
want to study in quite dorm-room, but their roommates often listen to loud music. It would be
very annoying and disturbing for them to bear their roommates for a long period of time.
A good roommate should be convivial and congenial. Undoubtedly, a jovial friend allowspeople to feel more relaxed and comfortable. Especially if the two roommates have many
interests in common, their life will be much more colorful and meaningful. Otherwise, they
would have to face a lot of trouble. For example, a non-smoker cannot get along well with a
chain-smoker. Likewise, a conservative one is not likely to accept a roommate leading a loose
life.
You should want a roommate that is honest and trustworthy. A roommate that has respect for
another person's belonging. You want a roommate that you can have a conversation with.
Most of all you want a roommate that won't cross the line when it comes to your date(s).
Besides your roommate probably has friends and may not want to be hanging out with you
even though the things you want in a mate she my be. If you get a trusting roommate be
satisfied.
I would consider a versatile person an ideal freshman roommate. He would be flexible and
athletic, and would enjoy running, mountain-biking, playing Frisbee, and playing volleyball.
We would have different talents so that we could learn new talents from each other. This

A considerate friend makes people feel at home. Living far from their relatives, students desire for
care and affection. Particularly when they are sick or depressed, their roommates taking care of them
could be great pleasure. Similarly, students need sympathetic roommates to forgive their trivial
mistakes. So to speak, a nice roommate may possibly be a best friend students can look for.
For the aforementioned reasons, an ideal roommate should be a congenial, trustworthy, and
considerate person. Living with a complete stranger would be difficult and troublesome at the
first time, but I think with a good partner, they will together overcome every obstacle in their
student life.
All in all, good roommates should be sociable and congenial, trustworthy and considerate.
However, one ought to strive for his self-improvement before requiring too much from his
roommate. Living with a completely stranger is without fail difficult and troublesome but it
might reward people with incredible friendships.
