Arthur. V.Dias ,the well known environmentalist ,was born into a wealthyfamily in panadura. He started a tree planting campaign especially to promotejak. He distributed jak seeds throughout the country by mail and encouragedpeople to grow jak trees. He was given free postage facilities for this porpose as
