To speak about the students of Vidya Kiran, it’s a nice experience to teach

such students who have an enthusiasim for studies and learn more. They

have the urge for knowledge, which I think, which is most important for a

student to grow in their life. The experience of teaching Vidya Kiran students

is different because here the students are eager to know about the subject

and its not only the subject but other fields also, I will cherish this experience

for long time.

I wish the students and the institute, success and all the best in future.”

Challenges and Solutions

• This year at the time of selection we found parents have given wrong

information about their economic status.

- Always we collect all the information from students and

parents before the selection. But some time after the selection

we know their status. So we have started at least 3 to 4 sitting

30

with parents and students before selecting the particular

student.

• Most of all students are from Kannada Medium. Some students are

suffering from inferiority complex mostly about the medium of

instruction. Because of these reasons some students are irregular to

class and get low marks in tests. They fear of low performance and

not attend tests.

- By counseling and their senior’s experience, students improve

their confidence level. Lecturers support and guide in their

class and guide to proper use of dictionary. Encouraging them

to take tests.

• Some students have problems in adjusting to college environment.

They are finding it difficult as most of our students have come from

rural schools to college in city. Most of the students are toppers in

their Schools, now they are struggling to get good marks; this is

bringing their confidence down.

- To build up their confidence level by motivational talk and soft

skills programme. Also we have identified students who are

regular and who have scored very well in the tests, we are

encouraging them by giving small gifts, like note books and

pens. We also celebrate their birth days in our center; we put

their name on notice board and convey our wishes to them. All

this small activities are motivating them to improve their

educational endure ones.
