Milk Aggregation Portal is a web and mobile basedsolution designed and developed to seamlessly handlemilk aggregation from the dairy farmer to milkaggregator to the chilling plant and to enable cashlesspayments for the entire value chain. Currently 15collection centers are using MAP with 1,600 farmerspouring approximately 8,000 liters of milk per day in Uthiramerur & Thirukazhukunram blocks ofKancheepuram District in the state of Tamil Nadu (TN).

Maintain complete track of farmer's milk selling activities and makeassociated payments in their bank accounts.Increase volume of banking transactions to keep bank accounts active ofsmall and marginal dairy farmers.Create credible financial history of the farmers to enable access to formalsources of affordable credit.

MAP is an integrated solution which combinesFarmer Data Repository (FDR) with a web andmobile based application for milk aggregators andchilling plant. FDR enables collection &maintenance of all data pertaining to allstakeholders including dairy-farmers enrolledunder the project. Desktops with MAP application and weighingscale integrated with MAP were provided to 15milk collection centers. The field staff guided allthe farmers to register themselves onto theplatform. The field staff of NAF, supported theongoing field activities such as registration ofcollection centers, training of aggregators on howto use MAP, collection of farmers' data, hand-holding support, etc. Round the clocktechnological support is provided by Flexicode.

SANKALP has been used to visualize and analyse data using a vast array ofgraphical methods. SANKALP is a big data analytics platform that allowsusers to view data in a macro as well as granular level, simultaneously. Thedashboards available on SANKALP allow users to perform complexgraphical analysis using a simple drag-and-drop feature. Moreover,SANKALP has the versatility to incorporate various modules to expand itsfunctionality and provide information to end user through a mobile app. Itis an end to end scheme creation, evaluation, communication andmonitoring tool. Currently, SANKALP is being used in-house as an program management andanalytical tool for all the projects of CDFI. The same can be used for otherprojects/programs of similar nature by other stakeholders.

MAP provides a feature by which offline data can also berecorded in the system. This feature helps when thetransaction and registration data could not be collected inreal-time due to various constraints. MAP's web and mobile interface is simple  and  one onlyneeds to have number literacy. The interface asks for theunique serial code of the farmer and the  transaction isautomatically captured against the desired dairy farmer MAP is currently available in two languages English andTamil. It has the ability to be configured in multiplelanguages as per the regional needs of the project, thusmaking it easy to understand for the users.

MAP helps in building financial credit profile of all theregistered users (dairy farmers, farmers, aggregators, etc.) byfacilitating banking transactions through the portal, thusenabling access to formal sources of affordable credit. MAP helps reduce distrust among farmers to share their personaldetails such as mobile number, income, loan taken, occupation,etc; thereby helping FIs extend line-of-credit for dairy andagriculture activities. CDFI, is exploring financial inclusion partners who can directlyuse the system of MAP for produce aggregation. This will resultin building of centralized data repository with the FPOs thus,leading to innovative dairy and farming practices throughinformed decision making.
