The third annual Asheville Earth Day event, held at Martin Luther King Jr Park, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010. This FREE, day-long event is focused on providing a fun, entertaining setting to educate and promote conscious awareness and green living for the families andindividuals of the Asheville community.
The mission of Asheville Earth Day is to provide a FREE activity for people of all ages and backgrounds in the Asheville community. This gathering exists to educate and celebrate that every person can make a difference for envi-ronmental change. together we can make a difference globally.
Asheville has long been known for it’s music and beautiful scenery but more importantly for it’s eclectic, environmentally conscious, health oriented citizens and community. These citizens support both locally owned busi-nesses and national companies alike, as long as they practice fair business, utilize environmentally friendly methods and provide a healthy, sustain-able product. It has been proven many times over, if a product is successful in Asheville, it trickles down throughout the southeast.
Asheville Earth Day is proud to announce our continued partnership in 2010 with non-profit beneficiary LEAF in Schools and Streets. Based out of the locally grown arts and music festival known as the Lake Eden Arts Fes-tival, LEAF in Schools and Streets is an educational program dedicated to providing world influenced music and arts education to the youth of com-munities across the globe, and especially in our own community of Ashe-ville, NC.

event overview
This all day environmentally conscious gathering is designed to raise awareness and provide resources for conscious living and communitycollaboration in support of effective “green” practices, environmentaleducation and habitat protection.
This event’s features :
• The Live Music Stage reaches out to various genres and generations, spotlighting Earth-conscious musicians on national and local levels.
• Earth Day Eco-Village highlights many of Asheville’s Earth-friendly businesses and non-profit organizations through exhibits, speakers and demonstrations; plus live features on the Eco-Village Stage!
• The Kids-Village encourages environmental awareness in our youth while providing fun activities and entertainment for Asheville fami-lies. The focus will be to teach children how to live “green” day to day providing them with tools and ideas to help at home to create healthy habits that will stay with them into adulthood.
On Saturday April 17th, 2010 this will be an all day event starting up at 11am and going until 10pm in the beautiful, secluded and centrally locat-ed Martin Luther King Park in downtown Asheville. Details for the offi-cial Earth Day After-Party will be announced closer to the event.
This event was created to provide a communal celebration of Asheville’s bustling environmentally conscious community. We are dedicated and committed to spreading environmental awareness throughout the region by providing a vehicle for environmental education and support.
