HISTORY OF PAKISTAN TOURISM

Member of UNWTO in September 1949

Initially Pakistan Railways was responsible for tourism matter

In 1956 , transferred to Communications and Transport Division

In June 1960, was named as Bureau of Tourism

In 1964, was placed under control of CAA and Tourism

PTDC was set up in In March 1970

In September, 2004 it was given status of Ministry of Tourism

Originally called Victoria Memorial Hall

Built in1906-07 in the memory of Queen Victoria
