Robust Segmentation and Text Extraction from Natural Scene ImagesUGC Summer Intern under Prof A.G. Ramakrishnan, IISc Bangalore (MayJuly 2010)Developed a robust color connected component based segmentation algorithm for automatictext detection and extraction from natural scene images. The method was tested on imagesfrom the ICDAR 2003 Robust Reading Competition data set and was found to enhance thetext recognition accuracy significantly.

Interactive Curve and Surface Design for Computer GraphicsUnder Prof. S.N. Biswas, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata (MayJuly 2009)Developed an interactive design of surface patches and used it for the three - dimensionalsurface modelling of a car in MATLAB. This method ensures that different surface patches ofa complex model can be defined using a small set of parameters and interactively modifiedand joined to manipulate the surface shape of the object.

Segmentation of Text and Images in document imagesUnder the Spider Team, NIT Trichy (Mar - Apr 2009)Implemented a MATLAB prototype of Automatic Document Analysis for segmentation oftext and images in digitized documents based on the Gray-level Histogram Fourier transformof the image.
