large,51/2digit,0.65in(1.65cm)characterdisplayislargeandeasy-to-read;evenfromadistance.Iconsarealsoincludedtoindicatebatterylife,engineeringunits,andthereisabargraphthatshowsthepercentageofscalereading.Allofthisinformationcanbereadinlowlightwiththeuseofthebacklight.

Pressure connections1/4”NPTmalelowerconnec-tionisstandard.A1/4”BSPmaleadapterisincluded.TheIPImaybeorderedwithabackmountingconfiguration.Thisdesignhasthe1/4in.NPTmaleconnec-tiononthebackofthecasevicethelowermanifoldconnection.Thisallowsforuseinpanelmountedappli-cationsorinapplicationswhereflatmountingisnecessarysuchasinanoverhead.Thisconfigurationisnotdeliveredwithaprotectiveboot.

ON / OFFTheIPIisdeliveredwiththeauto-shutoffactiveandsetto30minutes:likemanyofourotherinstruments.Thisfeaturecanbereducedfrom30minutesdownto1minutein1minuteincrements.Incaseswhereaconstantreadingisneces-sary,thiscanalsobeturnedcompletelyofftoallowforcontinuousoperation.

CONFIGThisisthekeytoaccessalluser-settablefunctions.TheCONFIGkeyisusedinconjunctionwiththe▼and ▲ functionsontheZEROandMAX/MINkeystoselectandchangedifferentfunctions.

Youcansetoneof20engineeringunits,changetheauto-shutofffunctionsetting,displaytheactualbatteryvoltage,displaytheactualtemperature(in°Cor°F),turnthedamp-eningonoroff,changethesamplerate,andsettheTarevalue.Inadditiontothe20availableengineeringunitsontheIPI,youcancreateyourownunittomeetyourmeasurementneed.Forexample,ifyouneedtotakealevelmeasurement,simplydeterminethepressurethatequatestooneunitofthatmeasurementandsetthatasyourengineeringunit.Theapplicationmayrequiregallons,feet,inches,meters,liters,orsimilar;withtheIPIyoucantakethemeasurement.

External powerSometimesitismoreconvenienttotakeadvantageofanexistingpowersourceratherthanusingbatteries.TheIPImaybeorderedwitha24VDCpowersupplyoption.Theunithasterminalstoacceptthepositiveandnegativeleadstoallowforeasyconnectiontothepowersupply.Theseunitswillnotbesuppliedwithbatteriesandbatteriesshouldnotbeinstalledwhentheunitisconnectedto24VDCpower.

TheJOFRAIPIdigitalpressureindicatortakestheconceptofananalogtestgauge,andbringsittoanewlevel.TheIPIcombinestheaccuracyofdigitaltechnologywiththesimplicityofananaloggauge,andachievesperformance,ease-of-use,andafeaturesetunmatchedinthepressuremeasurementworld.SetupoftheIPIisfastandstraight-forward,throughamenu-drivendisplay,withminimaltext,andintuitivefunctions,thatissimpleenoughtoallowtheindicatortobeusedanywhereintheworld,withouttheneedformultilingualdisplays.

Serial communicationsTheIPIhasaserialportthatisaccessiblethoughthebackofthecase.ThisfeatureusesstandardASCIIcommandstoallowforextractionofdatafromtheIPIwhiletakingreadings.Thisrequirestheoptionalserialcable.

Field recalibrationTheIPIdoesnotneedtobereturnedtothefactoryforcalibration.Ifyouhaveareliableandaccuratepressurereferenceoralocallaboratory,youmayre-calibratetheIPIlocally.Thisfeatureispasswordprotected.

Sampling rateTheIPIsamplingrateisuserselectable.Ifyouwanttocapturefastsystemtransients,theIPIcantakeareading10timespersecond.Conversely,youmaywanttocon-servebatterylifeandonlyneedperiodicsamples.Then,youcanselect1sampleperevery2seconds.Thisworkswellforinprocessandpanelmountedapplications.Youcanalsochoosetheacceptedinstrumentsamplingrateof3samplespersecondfornormaluseortoallowforfilter-ing,youcanselect1samplepersecond.

Damping adjustmentThedampingfunctioncanbeturnedonoroffontheIPI.Thisallowsforreadingstobeintegrated,whichaccountsformomentarychangessuchasthosefrompulsingsources.

TareBeyondzeroingtheIPI,youmayhavetoaccountforresidualpressure.TheTarefeatureallowsyoutotakecareofthaterrorandpreventthemanualcalculationofthedif-ference.Thiscanbeusedincombinationwiththecustomengineeringunitstomakethelevelmeasurementseasier.

Temperature display and compensation BecausetheIPIisdesignedforin-processtasks,temperaturecompensationisincludedtomakethejobeasier.ThisallowstheIPItomaintainaccuracyoverthemeasurementrange.Themeasuredtemperaturemaybecheckedfromthekeypad.
