AMERICA’S ENERGY SECURITY IS IMPROVING

MEASURING OUR ENERGY RISKS

The Institute for 21st Century Energy’s Index of U.S. Energy Security Risk measures 37 different metrics and compares them to America’s average energy risk from 1970 to the present. It also looks forward to 2040 to determine if our energy security will improve or decline – and why.

AMERICA THE ENERGY SUPERPOWER

America is producing so much more oil and natural gas thanks to the “shale gale” that we are becoming a vital force in stabilizing world energy markets.

The decline in our energy risk is being driven by America’s domestic energyrevolution, but improvements in our energy security are not a given.Poorly designed policies that limit access to resources, and regulatoryoverreach have created uncertainty that threatens to hold back U.S.energy production.
