There was a tie*, he said,•hen big family acts would co«efro* Europe and the head of theact earned enough to take cereof the whole family — Maybeaix or seven people. Then asthe children grew up and narriecand the families enlerged theyneeded more money, but it Justisn't there.

This has broken up the fam-ily acts. Nowadays they will gofrom show to show, whereverthey can get the Money, ratherthan staying with one show forthe entire seaaon.

Rarely is a travsling actmore then three persons thesedays. Simply becauss the promo-ter can't afford to pay enoughfor half e dozen par formers whoare in just one act.
