The first shot is a tracking shot which moves into the characters living room, reveal part of the character to the audience. This is an establishing shot of his home, the calmness and smoothness reflects the impression the audience get of characters being a calm individual.

In this close up in shows the character putting on a mask and masks are used to hide identities and this can foreshadow he is the killer and he has split personalities. It also emphasizes the care that the character takes over himself.

Throughout the whole opening there is a variety of shots, including medium and wide shots. They are all used to show what he is doing clearly and all match with the voice over.

The music in this opening is very soft and relaxing, creating a strange contrast with the mystery being created through the visuals and voice over.
