A is for American Pickers

American pickers have their own TV show and they look in shacks, buildings, and houses and when they find antique items they buy them from the owners.

American pickers have their own shop in Iowa.

B is for Butter Cow

The butter cow is at the Iowa State Fair every year.

The Butter Cow is made 100 percent out of butter.

C is for CornCorn is a major component in many food items like cereals, peanut butter, snack foods, and soft drinks.

Corn is also made into a gas called ethanol. It takes 1.5 gallons of ethanol can go more miles than gasoline.

D is for Dodge House

Gen. Greenville M. Dodge lived in the Dodge House he was called ‘’The greatest railroad builder of all time’’.

The Dodge House has 14 rooms, and a three story mansion it stands on a high terrace overlooking Missouri Valley.

E is for Eastern Gold Finch

The oldest Eastern Goldfinch is11 years old. The Eastern Goldfinch is

Iowa’s state bird.

In the Winter the Eastern Goldfinch will move in flocks from one location to another for search for food.

F is for Field of Dreams

Field of Dreams is a 1989 American drama film.

Field of dreams was filmed at Dubuque County, IA.

G is for Geode

The Geode is the Iowa state’s rock .

The worlds, largest geode is 8 meters in length, 1.8 meters wide and 1.7 meters wide.

H is for Herbert Hoover

Herbert Hoover was the 31st president of the United States of America.

Herbert Hoover was born on August 10,1874 in West Branch, Iowa.

I is for Iowa State Fair

The Iowa State Fair is held in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Iowa State Fair is held every year in Des Moines, Iowa it has a famous attraction called Butter Cow.

J is for Shawn Johnson

Shawn Johnson lived in Des Moines, Iowa.

Shawn Johnson is a gymnast and she won to medals in 2007 and 2008.

K is for Knoxville Sprint Cars

Knoxville, Iowa has the sprint car capital.

They race sprint cars wildly.

L is for lake Manawa

Lake Manawa is a lake right by Nissan car selling cars trucks and good deals. Lake Manawa is a place you can go fishing, boating ,tubing ,and ,swimming it has a beautiful park. There are trails and deer you can hunt.

M is for Mississippi River

The Mississippi river is a good place to go fishing and boating and walk across a beautiful bridge that they made.

There was a devastating flood that was sandbagged and tried to stop the flooding .

N is for Neloa

Neloa is a place were there is a movie theater, gym and a gas station and a restraunt called Buck Snort.

Neloa has its own school called Tri-Center.

O is for Oak Tree

The oak tree is Iowa’s state tree.

Oak tree’s grow wildly in Iowa.

P is for Popcorn Ball

The world largest popcorn ball is held in Sac city Iowa it hold a ginuess world record.

Popcorn weighs 910LB the sugar weighs 1, 500 Lb the syrup weighs 690 Lb.

Q is for Quaker Steak and Lube

Quaker Steak and Lube is a place to go you can have good food you can eat under a car.

There are not a lot of these restraints in the United States.

R is for Missouri River

The Missouri River is located on the Eastern side of Iowa.

You can do a lot of stuff in this lake like river fish, airboat, and more.

S is for Squirrel House Jail

SQUIRREL HOUSE JAIL

The Squirrel House Jail is a museum in Pottawattamie County.

The Squirrel House Jail is the only that rotates to each cell.

T is for Tractor

Tractors are useful for plowing corn and planting corn.

There are a lot of tractors in the world there are combines, tractors and many more.

U is for Underwood

Underwood has a place called UMBA you can skate there for $4 or hang out with your friends.

Underwood has many thing to do like eat at a local restaurant called friends. If you could go to Underwood try the stuff I just talked about.

V is for Villisca house

The Villisca house is a old house. In 1912 this normal

house became a killing house 6 kids and two adults

were murdered that day.

Two of the kids were not even were just neighbors.

W is for Wheat

Wheat is made into pizza, bread, cheerios, flour, cakes, dog food and oyster sauce.

Wheat is the most wildly grown crop and it is found in thousands of foods.

X is for Basilica Church Of Xavier

The Basilica Church of Xavier was built in 1888.

The church is 200ft tall and it was restored in 2000.

Y is for Yellow River

The Yellow River is a 53 mile long river.

You can fish and canoe.

Z is for Blank Park Zoo

Blank park zoo is located on the south side of Des Moines Iowa

This amazing zoo has over 800 animals.
