JANUARY 22, 19:32. Edwa1'd Vining was born to Mr, and Mrs. E. G. Nichols.

l\fARCH 24, 1932. :Afr. L. Curtis Guise left Madura for fur­lough in America. He went by way of Colombo to

Australia and New Zealand and from there continued his journey to America 1)ia the Panama. Cana·} and New Orleans.

MARCH 31, 1932. D'J'. and :Alr.~. J. X. Mille?', ha.ving resigned their work as missionaries of the American Board in the Madura area, retired from that work and are making their home in Oota.camund for the present. (Later :-Dr. and Mrs Miller have bought lit home in Coonoo)' caned "'Vbite Lodge" where they now are making their home.)

APRIL 1, 1932, Rev. and IlI,,·s. Emmons E. White together with their two children, Laura and Robinson, and Mr. White's mother left Madura for Colomho and America where Mr and Mrs. \Vhite will spend their furlough.

APRIL I, }932. Illiss Mary M. Root, having returned to Madura from Bangaiore for a few days, left Madura together with Mr. and Mrs. White on her way to America. Miss Root retired from the Mission in December, 1929.

APRIL 20, 1932. Donatd Richard Wilder was born at Koda.i­ka.nal to Dr. and Mrs. E. W. Wilder.

MAY 31, 1932. Dr. Anna M. Ott(j severed her connected with "the Mission today through her resignation from the Boa.rd. At the request of the Mission and the Board she will technically be on "leave without pay for an indefinite time in the hopes that she may some day rejoin the service of the Board." On June 15 she began her connection with tbe Kodai­kana} School as their medical officer. (Later:­Dr. Otto went borne on short furlough in October and returned to Koaaikanal in January, 1933 to­ge'ther with her niece Miss Alice Otto. Dr. Otto has taken up her work again III connection with the school for Missionary children.)

JUNE 3, 1932. Mr. and Mr.c;. Lloyd; L. Lorbeer and their two children, Mabelle and Ernest, arrived in Y1 adura

_from furlough having come by way of the Pacific ocean. They bave taken up their residence at "Hillcrest", Pasumalai, where M r Lorbeer becomes manager of the Pasumalai High and Training Schools.

JUNE 7, 1932 D1·. 1. ltl Robel'ts returned from furlough today and has taken up her residence in " Knowles Bunga­low" and has reassumed her work as medical officer of the hospital for women and children at

East Gate, Madura.

JUNE 27, 1932. Dr. and tlI)·s. B. S. Stoffel' with tbeir two children rrhornas and Robert, returned from furlough. Dr. Stoffer has tal\:en over the principalship (If the College and the wardenship of the Hoste]s.

JULY 1, 1932. ltfr. a,lld ]fr.q. E. L. Nolting left for America. today via Colombo and the Pacific. Mr. Nolting is studying at Union.Semina.ry while on furlough.

JULY 9, J 932. Mrs. Henrietta Rendall Ohundle1' died at Mountain Rest, Mass., U.S.A., after a brief illness. She retired fronl the Mission service on December

·31,1930.

NOVEMBER 22, ] 932. Miss B. K. Smith arrived from fur­lough by way of Colombo. She had left America on JUly 3 and had spent the summer with Miss

Quickenden in England who was unable to return to India owing to health conditions. (I.Jater:- Word ha.s been received from the Board that Miss Quicken­den has retired from the service of the Board on account of ill-health. She is making her residence in London.)

NOVEMBER 28, 1932. Rev John S. Ohandler, D.D., arrived in Madura from America having travelled with Mr. and Mrs. Martin via Italy and Bombay. Dr. Chandler hopes to spend the days of his retirement in South India with his two daughters, Mrs. 1. Cannady of Guntur, and Miss G. E. Chandler of Madura.

DECEMBER 8,1932. Rev. and ltfrs. A. A. frlartin with their children, Stirling and Mary LOllise, arrived in Madura coming to India via Brindisi and Bombay. They have taken up their residence in Batlagundu together with work under the Madura Church Council.

JANUARY 8, 1938. Born to ltfr. and Mrs. Lockwood a son at the Women's Hospital, named Michael Chapman.
