Hope you all have had a wonderful start to the year and managed to stay safe and warm through the beginning of this winter. We’ve definitely had some strange weather! I would like to say I have had a wonderful start to the year. Thanks for all of your flexibility, encouragement, and kind words! January was a fun month! We had a few different enjoyable entertainers including the wonderful Marimba player Nancy Crumback, singer and guitar player Chris Sloan, and a presentation from Jim Dreyer! We also got to take the bus to many fun places such as the Ravenna Pub, Hemlock Crossing, Delly Belly Bakery in Coopersville, Red Robin, and the Rivertown Mall! We have a lot to look forward to this month. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and you are all invited to join us for our Valentine’s Day Celebration! There are also many fun trips we will be taking. Trips include: a visit to see Cory in Spring Lake, Coral Gables for lunch in Saugatuck, Celebration Cinema at Rivertown Mall, and Fricano’s Pizza for dinner. Two other events you won’t want to miss are the Super Bowl Party and our ’50s day Diner at our noon meal! I’m really looking forward to this month! I hope to see you all at these exciting events. Chaplain’s CornerUNLEASHING HOPE

REFUSE TO GO IT ALONEHave you ever had conflicts with

someone? There was a church where the

Preacher and the Song Leader werenot getting along. As time went on,the friction between the Preacherand the Song Leader began to spillover into the worship service.

For example, the first week, thePreacher preached on Commitmentand how we should dedicateourselves to the service of the Lord.

Right after that, the Song Leadergot up and led the song ‘I Shall NotBe Moved.’

The second week, the Preacherpreached on tithing and how weshould all gladly give and tithe ourmoney to the work of the Lord.

The Song Leader got up and ledthe song, ‘Jesus Paid It All.’

The third week the Preachertalked on gossiping and how weshould all watch our tongues.

The Song Leader led the song, ‘Ilove to tell the story.’

With all of this going on, thePreacher became very disgusted withthe situation and finally told thecongregation that he was consideringresigning.

The Song Leader got up and ledthe song, ‘Oh, Why Not Tonight?’

And it came to pass that thePreacher did, in fact resign.

The next week he informed thechurch that it was Jesus who led himthere, and it was Jesus who is takinghim away,

And the Song Leader led the song‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus.’

The Bible says, “...it is not good forthe man to be alone...” (Genesis 2:18)That’s because God designed youand I for relationships! Jesushimself said, "...love one another. As Ihave loved you...” (John 13:34)
