Oak Alley

Named for the canopied path of live oaks leading to the entrance, Oak Alley Plantation is a National Historic Landmark as one of the few true antebellum mansions left. Boasting high ceilings, large windows, a symmetrical façade, and a second-floor gallery, the mansion is a testimony to the old South. The Oak Alley Foundation has largely left the mansion in its original state, but has included exhibits and demonstrations for visitors to explore.

Beale StreetJust a short distance away from the Queen of the Mississippi’s Memphis dock, Beale Street is one of America’s most famous throughfares. Although Beale Street marked the inception of the “Memphis Blues” music style in the 1920s, you’ll also hear soul and jazz pour out of the street’s many clubs and restaurants. And if you want to enjoy the open Memphis air, it’s easy to find street festivals and concerts playing on Beale.

For those fascinated by music history, Sun Studios is located just one street away. Sun Records owner, Sam Phillips, is notable for discovering and first recording such influential musicians as Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash there.

The Louisiana Purchase

On your Complete Mississippi River Cruise, you will be traveling through the large majority of the beautiful landscape bought in the Louisiana Purchase. In the real estate deal of the century, Thomas Jefferson bought a whopping 828,000 square miles of territory from France for about only three cents an acre. The purchase sparked the exploration of the western frontier and on this cruise, you will have the opportunity to visit seven out of the fifteen states the deal helped create.

This epic journey on the world’s newest riverboat travels the entire length of the Mississippi River. The cruise brings you to ten states–even more than Huck Finn’s famous trip down the Mississippi–and allows you to experience the history of the Western frontier.

American Cruise Lines is proud to announce the American Eagle, a brand new Mississippi River paddlewheel riverboat for the 2015 cruise season. Designed with traditional Victorian-style accents, it elegantly blends tradition with modern features and amenities. While the new ship is adorned with gleaming woodwork, brass fixtures, and historic décor, it is constructed with the latest in cruise ship technology.

Similar to its sister ship, Queen of the Mississippi, the American Eagle will have the best and most relaxing accommodations—from the staterooms to the public lounges. Even the grand dining room is set up with comfort in mind as it has plenty of space for all passengers to dine together. You can truly enjoy the passing scenery onboard as all private balcony staterooms feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. These and many more of the American Eagle’s accommodations are similar to those typically found in the finest hotels.

The American Eagle features the most spacious staterooms in the industry with more space per

passenger than any other riverboat.

When Lewis & Clark began their famous expedition from St. Louis in 1804 to explore the Louisiana Purchase, no one knew what they might find in western America.

The expedition wintered at Fort Clatsop, near the western end of the Columbia River in Oregon, before returning east in the spring of 1806. The fort was built in three weeks in 1805, and today a replica of the original camp stands as the Fort Clatsop National Memorial.

American Cruise Lines offers a guided tour of the near-perfect recreation of the fort, as well as interactive demonstrations and exhibits that allow you to truly discover the journey of these famous pioneers.

General Information Prices and schedules are subject to change at any time.

The following information will answer many of your questions about the details of your cruise. For additional information please call American Cruise Lines at 1-800-814-6880.

Departure Ports: All departure ports are located near major airports. Transportation between the airport and ship may be available for an additional charge. Parking is available at all departure locations at nearby commercial garages or lots at a reasonable weekly rate.

Departure Times: Cruises depart at 1:30 p.m. or earlier if all passengers have arrived. Passengers may board after 10:00 a.m. Crew members will carry your luggage to your stateroom. Passengers are recommended to arrive no later than 12:30 p.m. Cruises sometime return the evening before the last day of the cruise, and passengers may stay onboard until 8:30 a.m. on the last day. Breakfast is served on the last day of every cruise.

All-American: American Cruise Lines offers a unique experience that emphasizes the history and culture of the United States. American Cruise Lines is an American company and operates ships which are built and registered in the United States. Additionally, all crew members and employees are Americans.

Reservations: Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible to ensure the availability of the cruise and stateroom choice.

Fare: American Cruise Lines, Inc.’s per person fare includes passage, dining service, snacks, complimentary cocktail parties, and entertainment aboard the ship. Fares do not include most shore tours (unless otherwise noted), port charges and fees, or gratuities.

Shore Tours: Every American Cruise Lines shore tour falls into one of three categories: 1) FEATURED

shore tours are complimentary. Featured tours are selected tours which typically are offered daily on Columbia & Snake River, Mississippi River, and Alaska Cruises. 2) PREMIUM shore tours typically cost between $20 and $70 and may be purchased onboard with your Hotel Manager. 3) SIGNATURE shore tours are particularly unique tours with limited-availability and which often cost more than $70. We recommend that you reserve these tours in advance with your Cruise Specialist. For more information on shore tours, please visit www.americancruiselines.com or speak with your Cruise Specialist.

Single Occupancy: Single cabins are available on all ships. If one person chooses to occupy a double stateroom he/she will be charged 150% or 175% of the double occupancy rate depending on the type of stateroom occupied.

Deposits and Payments: A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 9 nights or less, and a deposit of $900.00 per person is required to confirm any reservation on trips of 10 nights or more. Final payment is due 90 days prior to the sailing date. Any Reservation made within 90 days of the departure date must be accompanied by full payment and is subject to Cancellation Terms. Contact American Cruise Lines, Inc. for additional deposit and payment information concerning groups.

What to Bring: Casual sportswear is suggested during the day. Casual country club attire is recommended in the evenings and for dinner. Comfortable walking shoes, windbreaker, sweater for cool evenings, and light rainwear are also recommended items. 110-volt household current is available in all staterooms for electric appliances.

Dining Service: Meals are served in the spacious dining salon, which accommodates all passengers at one seating. The day’s menu is announced well in

advance, and consists of fresh meats and seafood, as well as in-season fruits and vegetables. Special menus are available to passengers on restricted diets. Most special dietary needs can be accommodated, though advance notice is appreciated. All meals are prepared to order. Coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks are available 24 hours a day.

Itineraries and Sailings: American Cruise Lines, Inc. does not guarantee departure point, termination point or any intermediate stop. Itineraries, schedules, routes, ships, and staterooms are always subject to change at any time without notice due to weather conditions, availability of docks, shoaling, river conditions, operation of locks, mechanicals, or any other reason. The times and dates of departure and arrival are also subject to change. Some Intracoastal Waterway cruises may travel coastwise at times. The Mississippi River between St. Paul and St. Louis has particularly fickle river conditions which may require itinerary modification.

TV and Internet: All ships are equipped with satellite TV and wireless internet. Internet and TV service can be intermittent, particularly in remote areas.

Passenger Cancellation Terms: Cruise Cancellation Protection is recommended and available, and allows for a refund of the cruise fare paid, up to the sailing date. For information on the Cruise Cancellation Protection Plan, contact American Cruise Lines, Inc. Cancellations must be received by American Cruise Lines at its office in Guilford, CT in writing. Only written cancellations will be accepted and should be sent certified, registered mail or return receipt requested. All cancellations will incur a non-refundable $250.00 per person cancellation administrative charge. Cruise Cancellation Protection Plan purchase allows for a full refund of monies up to the day of sail for a covered reason, less administrative charges and Cruise Cancellation Protection Plan costs, which are non-refundable.
