READERSHIP SURVEY
The importance of trade publications
n Trade publications are still the most widely read and distributed source of information for business owners in the lifting, rigging and transportation industries. Our recent reader survey indicated that 87.8 percent of respondents claim industry trade publications are actually their primary source of information, followed by supplier/manufacturer websites.
n The printed magazine is still the most popular way of viewing a trade publication with 74.1 percent of respondents to our survey claiming it’s their preferred method.
n Business owners are more likely to bring information obtained from a trade magazine to the attention of associates, visit a manufacturer’s website, contact a manufacturer by email or phone or meet with a salesmen. More than 80 percent of respondents indicated advertisements are an important source of information for their businesses.
n Trade publications’ value persists because they are the most straight-forward and familiar way to deliver information and advertising.

n Gives dealers of cranes, trucks, trailers and transportation equipment the opportunity to market their companies and promote their affi liation with their respective OEM/manufacturers.
Introducing the SIGNET AdStudy®
n All half-page and larger display advertisers in the May and November issues will receive a free SIGNET AdStudy®. Signet is an independent, third-party research company that will poll ACT’s readers on their ability to “recall seeing” and “recall reading” ads in the issue.
n By providing measurement scores to ads and comparing to others in the same issue, advertisers are given the opportunity to fi nd new ways to better communicate with their audience and realize a stronger return on investment with their media buy. The study will include a sampling of verbatim comments from readers regarding their opinion of the ads involved in the study.
