ABCOPAD Men’s Retreat, July 28-30, 2017 – Challenging Men and Young Men

Nothing is Impossible with God – So Let Your Light Shine for Jesus to All!

Youth Program…Workshops…and Testimonies

Youth Program will be in the Theme of Superheroes

Two Goals for the Youth Program

1. The primary goal of our ABMen's Retreat Youth Program is to encourage fathers and/or grandfathers to bring their sons and/or grandsons to the retreat in order to bond together.

2. The second goal is for men to prayerfully consider sponsoring a young man from their church so that

they can experience a time of Christian fellowship and inspiration.

This event is open to all male youth who are going into 4th grade up to those who have just graduated from

high school. The cost is $100 for the entire weekend. A special Early-Bird price of $50 is available

for the first 25 youth to register. A Parental Consent form is required for all participating youth under the age of 18.

Fun Filled & Christ Centered…Games, Food, Prizes, & More…All for Only $50

Friday, July 28, 2017, 7:30 p.m., Evening Program

No Capes Needed

Rev. Dr. Jeff Johnson

ABCOPAD Regional Pastor with Congregations

ABHMS National Director of Evangelism and New Church Planting

Our icebreaker time on Friday evening will be group activities facilitated by Jeff Johnson. Just like Superman, we will 'test' your powers and abilities far beyond those of other mortal men to see if you can think faster than a speeding bullet, to see if you are stronger than a locomotive, to see if you are able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. These activities will allow us to get to know Superman and superheroes better but more importantly, get to know each other better, using the opening session to open ourselves up to spending the weekend getting to know the Lord better too. Thereby, making each of us a Super AB Man of God who "fights the never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the Christian way (Micah 6:8)".

Come ready to participate and enjoy! Oh, and no capes needed!

Youth Program…Workshops…and Testimonies

Saturday, July 29 through Sunday, July 30, 2017

Saturday Morning, Saturday Evening and Sunday Morning

Are You a Superman of God?

How to Become God’s Man of Steel

As a Christian, you ARE a Superman of God. This world is not our home; we are aliens - but how do we live in the world, yet not of the world? How do we stand firm in the faith and resist the enemy when he knows how to use our Kryptonite (our besetting sin) against us? What super powers has God given us, and how on earth do we use them to defeat the arch enemy of our soul? What “costume” do you put on so that you can fit in with the world around you, and why? These probing questions will be just a few of the things we will be seeking answers to from God’s Word - inquiring minds want to know!

Keynote Speaker - Rev. Steve Etner

Rev. Steve Etner is no stranger to our American Baptist Men's Retreat. He is our Purity Coach who has lead workshops at our last three retreats. Well, Steve is also a very gifted speaker for Men's conferences all over the USA. We are so pleased to announce that he will be our speaker this year by emphasizing our Co::Lab Vision for American Baptist Men as the visual suggests of forging servants

and relationships.

Biography: Rev. Steve Etner

Delegate or Die! ............. Rev. Dr. Randy Harris, ABC Transition Pastor

What happens when you take on too much because you think that is what God has told you to do? With little understanding, many leaders do not realize that God has placed different resources around them to help them get the job done! There is a great secret contained in "Delegate or Die". It reveals what the great prophets and spiritual leaders have tried to tell us for thousands of years. “Delegate or Die” is a book that will inspire the reader to read, the thinker to think, the leader to lead and the preacher to preach. It will explain how a person with a combination of the above named roles can do the will of God without thinking the work is all his to do alone.

From Luther to Zuckerberg: Navigating Social Media and the

Digital Divide ............................................... Mr. Joshua Kagi, ABHMS Social Media Specialist

Since the advent of the Gutenberg Press, the Church has been at the forefront of communications technology. Martin Luther recognized a reality where all people could live in relationship with God through Jesus Christ. No gatekeepers. No middle men -- Just Jesus and an accessible Bible. Today, we live in an era of even fewer gatekeepers thanks to the internet and specifically, Mark Zuckerberg and Co.'s invention of Facebook. In this interactive session, we’ll dive into the theology of digital communication, look at how churches and their members can engage their communities online and discuss best practices to maximize impact while minimizing required resources.

Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in America .................... Saturday Afternoon Only

Men of Business & Men of Purpose ........ Chaplain Gene Arnold, National Director for PA

FGBMFA is a soul winning laymen’s organization and the purpose is to empower men for life as we seek to - Equip men everywhere to fulfill the Great Commission; Reach men everywhere for Jesus Christ; Reveal the power of Christ to men; Mentor a young generation of Christ-minded businessmen; Provide an opportunity for Christian fellowship; and Bring greater unity among all people in the body of Christ.

Man in the Mirror – Men Reaching Men .......................................... Rev. Ron Crawford South Central PA Area Director, Man in the Mirror Ministry

Every man who is engaged in the church – whether it's in a small group, Sunday School class, men's activities, service, or ministry – knows that part of being a disciple is making disciples. So why aren't they doing it? Simple: they don't know how. What if there was a set of practical steps you could take that would draw men into life-on-life discipleship through meaningful relationships? We call this “Intentional Spiritual Friendships”.

Real Transformation: Changing Sinful Habits into a Life that Pleases God

............................................................................... Rev. Steve Etner, Author, Speaker, Purity Coach

If your heart’s desire is to please God, yet you are constantly battling with sinful thoughts and habits that hound you, know two things: first, you're not alone. Second, God has made a way to escape so that you can endure. In this session, we will open God’s word to discover how to take captive our thoughts and live transformed lives!

Serving as the Hands and Feet of Jesus through Disaster Relief

............................................................................................ Rev. Dr. Mark Mahserjian-Smith ABCOPAD Regional Pastor for Mission & Communication

Flooding, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes and other devastating disasters are a part of our world. When disaster strikes, people face the overwhelming task of putting their lives together. Many people do not have the physical, financial, emotional or spiritual resources needed to accomplish this enormous undertaking. It is in the midst of these challenges, we can care for the grieving, the broken-hearted and the overwhelmed by providing disaster relief and serving as the hands and feet of Jesus.
