We are seeing virtually all segments of boating types increase – some into double digit volumes. All regions of the country seem to be benefiting from a boating renaissance and only a few areas of concern whether economic weakness or shallow water. The HydroPort Extreme continues to see robust demand as people are responding positively to the easy on and off PWC drive-on docking system. We have features that are exclusive to HydroHoist and it is resonating with both dealers and the end consumer. We are very pleased and proud to be the recipient of two awards for the HP Extreme. The MRA Innovation Award by Marina Recreation Association in California, a very strong state association that supports five to six states in the marine business, and an additional national award which will be announced May 1st as required by the awarding body. The UltraLift Extended (Heavy Duty) Series, which consists of 10,000-32,000 lb. lifting capacities, will be available for shipping by mid-May. The improvements will make the ULE the strongest, most durable, and longest lasting hoist on the market. This was accomplished by the redesign of the casts – the fabricated pieces that are under stress or pressure loads. These tremendous improvements were driven by both our dealers and customers as we make every effort to be responsive to the market. I am very pleased to announce the release of the HarborHoist Gen 1.5, with a full launch of the Gen 2 by September 1st. The new version consists of a faster operating system, will allow for complete continuous walkway systems on either side of the boat, and a significant control system that guarantees level lift and launch, using accelerometer technology. We are very optimistic that this hoist will service us well in the short term, as well as the long term. The applications are numerous and its versatility will make it a strong contender in international markets as well as domestically. HyPower continues to experience strong sales as we are focusing on key customer targets and specific geographic regions. This includes any hurricane prone area, due to our patented PowerSnap Technology. The PowerSnap® weather base allows customers to lift off and remove the head for safe storage during severe weather events, and the panels include breakers and receptacles all in one unit – allowing for easier and safer repairs, as well as upgrades with no need to rewire or replace the unit. These are two strong intellectual properties that are valued by HyPower customers. RotoMoldUSA continues to meet the demand of the strong boatlift market, and continues to do it efficiently with acceptable scrap rates. We recently landed a large contract opportunity that will help take out the seasonality of the marine business at RMUSA. As I look out and forecast the balance of the year, I see nothing that will slow down our impressive sales growth and look forward to a strong boating season! The overall marine industry - led by boat sales - remains healthy for the first quarter of 2017.

DEALER SPOTLIGHTThomas Docks

Thomas Docks was founded in 1993 and incorporated in 1994. Scott Thomas grew up in the little town of Cicero, Indiana and its 2000-acre reservoir. He had the opportunity to buy out an existing small dock construction company in 1994. He ser-viced about 150 customers annually. Over the years, business continued to grow and they now service about 2,500 custom-ers. Scott started out with one employee in 1994, and now has 23 employees.

Scott graduated from Hamilton Heights High School in 1991. He worked in construction for a couple of years while he at-tended Ivy Tech. During his first year of sales with Thom-as Docks, he grossed around $130,000.00. In 2017, the annual company sales are about $3.5 million.

It wasn’t until 2014 that Thomas Docks became a part of HydroHoist Marine Group. “Our sales have in-creased 50% since becoming a HydroHoist dealer. We enjoy working with a company that looks out for its dealers and respects what they do and has their best interests in mind,” Thomas said.

Scott enjoys flying airplanes, boating, fishing…but basically work is all he knows!

MRA AWARDHydroHoist’s PWC Port Receives Industry Recognition

HydroHoist is proud to announce that the Marine Recreation Association (MRA) recently awarded the HydroPort Extreme (HPE) the Most Innovative Product of the Year for 2016.

This award honors advancements in the recreation-al marina and boatyard industry, recognizing com-panies, organizations and individuals who have contributed technology and services in a way that materially affects the industry.

HydroHoist is honored to receive this award following the intense design work and promotion of the HPE. Truly a standout amongst personal watercraft (PWC) docking

platforms, the HPE is fully roller-supported, has the easiest load and launch in the industry, and a flat, anti-skid walking surface. Importantly, the HPE is molded from ultra-tough Polyethylene Plastic and filled with Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) marine foam.

“Customers immediately notice the difference between the HPE and every other PWC port, and the re-views have been overwhelmingly positive,” said CEO Mick Webber. The Marine Recreation Association is a non-profit association that represents marina owners, operators and industry professionals through-out the Western U.S., Mexico, Hawaii and Australia. The Association’s mission is to provide a united voice in representing the interests of the boating and marina industries and to help educate and inform in all areas of recreational boating.

BOAT SHOW HIGHLIGHTSHHOK - TULSA

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHTJeff Rogers, Service Manager, HH Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

Jeff has been with HydroHoist since August, 2006. His role as the Service Manager is managing and scheduling new lift builds and installs and service of all HydroHoist product lines. His favorite thing about working at Hydro-Hoist is that each day is a new adventure with its own set of challenges and rewards and this keeps things fresh and challenging.

“I can honestly say that I have never had a boring day working for Hydro-Hoist.”

“HydroHoist has been a fantastic company to work for. They have not only afforded me the opportunity to grow as an employee within the company, but also have had a great influence on the person I have become personally. The employees of HydroHoist are a great group of individuals to work with and are always there to help me out,” Jeff said.

Jeff has been married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara, for thirty eight years. They have two chil-dren, Kristen and Logan. They are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren, Brayden, Sophie, Ellie and one on the way.

“Needless to say, we don’t have a lot of spare time or sanity left by the end of the week. But, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff,” said Jeff.

“This is a small office and Jeff has been invaluable to its success. Every year we are growing sales directly related to the quality of our work on every job. It’s his high standards that keep our customers happy and referring their friends,” said HHMO Regional Manager JoAnne Clark.

HHMO - OVERLAND PARK

“While attendance for the Tulsa show appeared to be down from the last couple of years, the quality of leads and potential for sales was as good or better than expected. The Extreme was a big hit and sales for it were brisk,” said Central States Sales Manager, Barry Rolen.

Overland Park Boat Show was held in January with the highest attendance in 10 years.

JoAnne Clark, Regional Manager, and Jeff Rog-ers represented Lake of the Ozarks.

Barry Rolen came in from Texas to help as well as a new HydroHoist distrib-utor from Table Rock – Gary Fultz.
