3These are a set of guidelines that outline the visual style for The American Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabis Tawasal Newsletter.
This style guide seeks to help the designer adhere to standard design rules and maintain graphical consistency for the newsletter.
The visual identity reflects The American Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabis corporate image, public perception and the totality of the communication that shapes the mind set of customers, colleagues, suppliers, shareholders and the community at large.
INTRODUCTION
4LOGO USAGE
The American Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi logo unit consists of 2 components; the typeface and the visual representation of a falcon/eagle spreading its wings and revealing the US flag on one side and the UAE flag on the other through colors and elements symbolizing the 2 nations.Under no circumstances should any component of The American Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi corporate logo unit be modified or altered in any way.
5LOGO USAGE
The AmCham logo unit should not be reproduced smaller than 3.5 cms. The requirements and limitations of various media should be considered when placing the logo. The AmCham corporate signature must always appear crisp and clean to effect consistency and preserve corporate identity.
*Try to apply these guides onto other corporate logos when placing them into the newsletter.

These are the standard colors that are acceptable to use in the newsletter. Different percentages of opacity or tint of any of these colors are also acceptable.
Avoid mixing colors or be cautious of using more than two colors (other than K76 and K100), throughout the newsletter.

Background Image
High-res background image covering full page. The image should convey something that is going to be mentioned in the edition. Normally the most important or most interesting article.
AmCham Logo
Located near Tawasal, either on top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right.

Size of images can vary but shapes of rectangles are recommended. When selecting pictures for the newsletter, consider using the same format for all the pictures. General rule of thumb: do not use low resolution photographs.
Cropping
When cropping, keep the images in proporation to the actual size. Avoid cropping of faces.
When placing photographs, try to ensure that faces are facing towards the center of the spread.
Strokes
Creating minimal space in between images is crucial to having a neat, well-designed page. The designer should apply white strokes around images.

All sizes of headshots should be consistent and the images should have a black stroke around them.
There are three different sizes, but make sure to use only one size in a single spread.

Font: Futura Medium, 12 pt, leading of 14pt Color: in general Paper/White, but depends on the color of the background.
Contact Information
All contact information should be placed on the bottom.
Font: Futura Medium, 10 pt, leading of 12pt Color: should adhere the same color as the Mission Statement.
