National VET Regulator (NVR) standards for teachers in RTOs

/ hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) from the Training and Education (TAE) Training Package as a minimum qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalence of competencies;

/ AND/ be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level

being delivered and assessed/ AND/ be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET

knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.

What does it mean for our teaching staff?

/ Existing staff without the Certificate IV TAE must take a course of action in order for the Institute to be compliant by 1 July 2013

☻Not a teaching process – it is recognition of prior learning
