Oh no! Mum and Jimmy have been taken! Feeling terrified and alone, Hamish turns to his new friend, Alice. She always seems to know what to do! Even if she is strangely obsessed with fish burgers!

Today, I would like you to write a character description about this enigmatic new character in Hamish’s life. Remember to include details about her personality, along with all of the prepositions, adjectives and similes!

The P.D.F is no longer just a small, intimate group of six children… It seems the children of Starkley have rather poor dental hygiene!

Today, I would like you to write another letter. This time, I would like you to address it to all of the new recruits in the P.D.F. I would like you to write a balanced argument convincing them to stay and defeat the Worldstoppers! You will need to use ‘balancing’ and ‘reasoning’ conjunctions, i.e. therefore, whereas, however, although, since.

Follow this link for a video to support today’s learning:https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zm3nvcw.

The P.D.F. are an exclusive, secretive team whose mission must remain absolutely confidential!

As today is National Numeracy Day, I would like you to explore patterns and sequences during your Writing session today.

Attempt the worksheet on the link below, before developing your own special code. Can you create a code containing numbers or shapes, to communicate an important message to all members of the P.D.F.?

Follow this link for a worksheet to support today’s learning:https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t2-t-258-crack-the-code-activity-sheet.

The game is afoot! The P.D.F have set part one of the plan into motion: everybody in Starkley has been invited to a fair! Why should they come?

You will need to use your excellent persuasive writing skills to design another poster for the P.D.F. How can you convince the people of Starkey to be at the right place at the right time? Remember to include rhetorical questions, imperative verbs, appealing adjectives and second person pronouns!

Would you believe that there is something worse than a Worldstopper!? Something bigger, more disgusting, more ferocious and even more deadly!? Brave little Dexter has told the P.D.F all that he can remember about the Worldstopper General, the master of ceremonies, but no one else in the P.D.F. has yet seen him!

Today, I would like you to write a character description of this elusive, grotesque and incredibly powerful monster! I would like you to try your best to include powerful verbs. Perhaps you could use them at the beginning of your sentences, i.e. Oozing from gargantuan, bulbous boils all over his hairy body, the WorldStopper General was covered in a slimy, sticky and stinky goo.

The Ancient Greeks loved to tell stories of myths, legends and daily life on huge pots and vases. Most often, these would be black figures painted onto orange backgrounds. Around their pottery, they would paint some very distinctive patterns:
