EPPING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS HEART CHALLENGE 2019We are excited to announce that EES will be participating in its annual Kids Heart Challenge (Formerly: Jump Rope for Heart (Kindergarten -3rd) and Hoops for Heart (4th-5th)) event during your child’s physical education classes this year! Every student will have a chance to participate in jumping and basketball activities, and those that would like to raise funds are encouraged to.

Mark your calendar – this event will be held in your child’s PE class the week of March 25-29. This very special community service program will help raise awareness of heart health as well as raise funds to fight our nation’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun event that helps our children understand the importance of community service and physical activity. All students will participate in the event as part of their physical education class, regardless of whether they choose to raise donations. Our school will receive a gift certificate from US Games that we will use to purchase new PE equipment as a bonus for our participation.

Family and friends are welcome to support your child’s participation by making contributions. Flat donations are asked and checks made out to the American Heart Association (AHA) are preferred. However, we ask that children not go door-to-door or ask strangers for donations. You are encouraged to use the online fundraising tool at heart.org/kidsheartchallenge. Refer to the collection envelope for more detailed instructions on how easy online fundraising is. Students will receive thank you gifts based on the amount of donations they collect. Collection envelopes will be due no later than Friday March 29, so that thank you prizes can be ordered. Because the Kids Heart Challenge activity is taking place during P.E. class a parent permission slip is not necessary. Fundraising is not required to participate but is encouraged. Did you know? In 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 we were first in fundraising in the whole state of NH for schools our size. Last year we raised over $12,000!!! That is an amazing accomplishment and is due to the hard work of our students and the generosity of our community. Keep up the great work!

With Heartfelt Thanks,

Mr. Bastien
