To ensure that your registration process is carried out smoothly, please read the following carefully

1. If you are already registered on another Amazon store, you simply need to complete these steps to start selling on Amazon Singapore store. If you are new to Amazon, start registration from here.

2. Please prepare the materials in section 1.2 below before registration. 3. Registration is irreversible but can be interrupted. You can exit registration at any time and continue the

process later using the correct registration e-mail and password. If you are unable to access please ensure that your network is stable. You can try to clear browser cookies and change the browser.

4. Unless otherwise specifically required, please enter all information in English.5. Please ensure that all materials/information entered on and submitted through Seller Central is true and

valid. It should be consistent with that contained in the documents that you submit.6. If there is any question during registration you can click “Get Support” button at the bottom left corner

of the page.

1.1 Matters needing attention before registration

Prepare these materials before registering your account and ensure they meet the requirements in this guide before submission. If your documents are rejected, you will not be able to successfully register your account.

1. Color scanned copy of identity document (Passport with bearer’s signature/ National ID Card - front and back/ Driver’s License - front and back) of legal representative:

• The name on the identity document must be consistent with the name of legal representative• The name on the identity document must be identical to that registered under Amazon Seller account

2. Color scanned copy of personal or company’s bank statement/ credit card statement:• For personal statements: The name on the identity document must be consistent with the name on the

identity document (Passport/ National ID Card/ Driver’s License)• For company statements: The name on the identity document does not need to match with the name

on the submitted ID. However there needs to be a company name or bank account holder name.3. Credit card for payment purpose:

• Credit card available for international payment (VISA or MasterCard, VISA preferred)• Ensure that payment in currency of targeted country is available. If you simultaneously operate on

several Stores, we recommend that you use credit card which supports payment in multiple currencies• Please ensure that your credit card has not expired and that it has adequate credit limit. It should

furthermore not have any restrictions in respect of online purchase or mail purchase4. Mode of contact:

• Contact person’s e-mail address• Contact person’s telephone (please enter telephone number of legal representative)• Company address and contact telephone

1.3 How to expand from other Amazon Stores to Singapore

1) Log in to your existing Amazon Store’s Seller Central account.Select “Sell Globally” under the “Inventory” drop down menu from the top bar

2) Select “Singapore” under “Asia-Pacific”, and click “Register Now”

3) You will be brought to the Amazon Singapore registration page to complete your registration. Complete your registration by following rest of the steps here.

If you are selling in Amazon Japan/ Europe/ North America/ Australia stores, please follow the steps in this page to create a selling account on Singapore store. If you are new to Amazon, proceed from the next page.

2.1 Begin registration

To begin the process of creating a seller account on Amazon you need to:• Launch https://sell.amazon.com.sg/ and click on “sign up”.• Click “Create your Amazon Account” in the pop-up page

2.2 Create Account: Enter name and e-mail address

Add the following information to create a new seller account on Amazon:

1. Enter your name (we recommend the name of the legal representative to be used)

2. Enter your e-mail address that you want to use to register or if you have a customer account you can use it to create a seller account.

3. Fill in the rest of the fields.

Finally click on “Create your Amazon account” to complete your login information and move to the next step.

2.3 Validation of e-mail address

You will receive an e-mail from Amazon. It contains a 6-digit authentication code. Enter the authentication code in the page shown below, then click “Create your Amazon account” button.If you have not received the authentication e-mail, check your spam mail to see if the e-mail has been redirected to it. If you still cannot find the e-mail ,wait a while before clicking “Resend authentication code” link on the interface for a new authentication e-mail to be sent.

1. First of all, select the country in which your business license is issued from the drop-down menu under “Business location“. If you do not have a business, simply enter your country of residence.

If you have selected e.g. Singapore, you will need to ensure at least one of the documents below is issued from your selected country:

- Passport / National ID/ Driver’s License- Personal / Company Bank or Credit Card Statement

2. Then, select the business type (according to actual circumstances), from the drop-down menu under ‘Business type’ and:

• Enter your company’s legal name if your Business Type is State-owned/ Publicly-listed/ Privately-owned/ Charity:

• Enter your First name and Last name (must match your National Identity Card/ Passport) if you are an individual seller

3. Read the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement and click “Agree and continue”.

Ensure your details are correct before you proceed as you cannot return to this page to make changes.

3.2 Enter company information (if you selected a business type that is not “Individual Seller”)

Enter all required information about the company.Please take note of the following:1. Your company’s registration number should be the same as that on its business license;2. For address you can enter the address on the business license or that of its actual operation. Address

should be in full and include unit number (if any). 3. Mode of PIN collection refers to the mode of authentication. You can choose either SMS or telephone call.

When entering telephone number you need to select the country from the drag-down menu next to the telephone number (e.g. for telephone numbers in Singapore please choose “Singapore +65”);

4. If you choose SMS authentication, you will receive a SMS. Enter the SMS authentication code. If you choose telephone authentication, you will receive a voice call. Enter the 4-digit code on the web page to proceed with authentication. The web page will show successful authentication if the correct authentication code is entered. If there is an error in system authentication, try to use other languages to carry out authentication or SMS authentication. If it is still unsuccessful after 3 tries, wait for an hour before carrying out authentication.

Once you have entered all relevant information and have passed SMS or telephone authentication, click “Next page” to proceed to the next step.

Ensure your details are correct before authentication as you will not be able to return to this step to change your information.

3.3 Enter personal information of Seller

You will need to enter personal information of the legal representative of the company for which the account is opened. Please note that all information (full name and address) keyed in must be an exact match to the information displayed on your choice of identity proof (Passport/ National ID/ Driver’s License).

Please check your entry carefully before submission, as failure in Seller Identity Verification would require you to re-submit your seller application information and documents (limited to maximum of 3 submissions).

Refer to below guided steps:

1. Fill in the first name and last name (middle name is not required) of the legal representative, followed by the rest of the fields:

2. Please choose your preferred identity proof (Passport/ Driver’s License/ National ID) and enter its details:

• Driver’s License (If you wish to use your National ID e.g. Singapore NRIC, but do not see it in the drop down options, you may use the ‘Driver’s License’ option to enter your National ID details)

• Passport

If your Driver’s license does not have an expiry date, you may input any future date as expiry date.

Please ensure your passport’s date of expiry is the same as the date you enter here.

3.3 Enter personal information of Seller

3. Check that the residential address matches the address on the legal representative’s Passport/ National ID/ Driver’s License. If it does not, please add a new address that meets the criteria.

4. Similarly, if the mobile phone number of the legal representative differs from the default telephone number, you can click “Add new mobile phone number” to add new mobile phone number. (Note: Newly-added mobile phone number has to be authenticated by way of SMS or voice call)

5. Tick to confirm whether the primary contact person (referring to the personal information you have input on this page) is a “Beneficial owner of the business” or a “Legal representative of the business” or both.

• What qualifies as a Beneficial Owner? The beneficial owner must be the company’s owner or manager. In other words it is a natural person or a company that owns directly or indirectly, 25% and above of the company's shares, or has the power to decide the company’s business, or in other manner exercises right of management over the company. The number of individuals must be consistent with actual circumstances. Such information may require authentication.

6. If there is only one beneficial owner of the company, tick “Yes” under “I have added all beneficial owners of the company”; otherwise tick “No”. If you choose “no”, you will need to enter information of other beneficial owners.

You need to enter credit card number, expiry date, name of cardholder and statement address.This is to make payment of subscription fee (if applicable) for the first month as soon as you complete the registration process and your information is verified. We will charge your selling account balance in future months or your Credit card if you have negative balance in your account at the end of a settlement period.

Please note: You will not be charged a monthly subscription fee for selling on Amazon.sg until after 31 December 2022. However if you are also selling on other Amazon stores, you will still pay the monthly subscription fee for those stores. You can downgrade at any time after you have completed registration. Please see our monthly subscription fees FAQ and merged accounts help page for further details on fees.

Steps:1. Please use AMEX, VISA and Mastercard credit cards only, otherwise it will be rejected on the ground of

non-compliance.2. Check to ensure that default address is the same as that for credit card statements. If not, please click

“Add new address”.3. The credit card holder and person registering account do not need to be the same individual. Corporate

accounts can also use personal credit card (we would recommend that you use credit card of the legal representative/beneficial owner).

4. After completion of registration and at any time during the account's operation you can change credit card information. However, frequent changes of credit card information may trigger account review.

Once you have entered all relevant information, click “Next page” to proceed to the next step.

3.4 Enter credit card information for payment

Note: Registration may fail if this address does not match the address on the credit card statement. You may add other addresses if you wish to change this default billing address.

Ensure that your credit card has not expired and there is adequate credit limit, with no restrictions on online purchase or mail purchase.

We accept the following Credit cards only: AMEX, VISA and Mastercard.

3.5 Enter Store information

Next you will enter Store information. This includes the name of the Store, product code and some information on the brand. We strongly recommend that your enter your Store name in English.

3.6 Submission of identity validation

Next please upload (1) Identity Document and (2) Bank/ Credit Card Statement and ensure the following document criteria are met to avoid having your documents rejected.

Document requirements: Acceptable file types: png, jpg, pdf only. Do not include special characters in the file name

(examples: $, &, or #)#) No mobile screenshots allowed, must be scanned images, or a photo taken from your mobile

device's camera (no screenshots) High-quality, in Color, and unobstructed (not angled, blurry, or cropped - all edges of the

document must be clearly) Authentic and unaltered Show the full page, and all pages in a document (for multi-page files) Less than 10MB in size Supported Languages:

• Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Viet

• Otherwise, provide notarized translations in a supported language with stamp and signature on document

3.6 Submission of identity validation

See below to learn about matching information requirement for a successful identity validation (see next few pages for examples and a useful checklist):

1. Identity Document: Passport or National ID Card or Driver’s License • The address on the Identity Document (ID) must match the address in ‘Residential Address’

information.• The name on the Identity Document (ID) must match the name in ‘Primary Contact Person’

information• Date of birth (if applicable) on ID must match the date of birth provided during registration.• If uploading Passport, ensure the document captures the bearer’s signature (if it is located on a

separate page, please submit both signature page and information page in one document)• If uploading National ID Card or Driver’s License, ensure both front and back of card are submitted

in one document.

Provide only 1 Identity Document (ID) type throughout your application. Please do not upload multiple types of ID document - only upload ID that matches your selected type of identity proof

2. Personal Bank/ Credit Card Statement or Company Bank/Credit Card Statement • If using Personal bank/ credit card statement, the name on the statement must match exactly with

the name in your submitted ID • If using Company bank/ credit card statement, the name on the document must be the name of

your company or your company bank account holder’s name (if you have a sole proprietorship).• There needs to be a visible address with its country matching the ‘Business Address’ information.• Bank logo, bank account number, business address, business name or point of contact (name of

person to contact on behalf of the business), and bank account holder name must be clearly visible.

• Statements need to be issued within the last 90 days • All pages of the statement are to be included in a single document (Multi-pages)• Transaction titles needs to be clearly seen, must show transaction activity, but you can black out the

transaction amount.

IMPORTANT:

• Failure to comply with criteria will result in failing Seller Identity Verification, upon which you will need to re-submit your seller application information and documents (limited to 3 submissions)

Please use this checklist to ensure your documents have met all the criteria before submission:

If you submit a copy of your passport, does your file have both the picture page and the bearer’s signature page, without cropping off any blank pages, and merged into one file?

If you are using Passport or Driver’s License, did you provide both sides of your ID in colour? (Document in black and white will be Rejected.)

Did you provide both sides of your Bank Statement/ Credit Card Statement in colour? (Document in black and white will be Rejected.)

Did you submit ALL pages of your Bank Statement/ Credit Card Statement? For multi-page files (e.g. ID card or Bank statement), are the images combined into one file of less than

10 MB in size and uploaded in acceptable file types of gif, png, jpg, pdf, and docx? (Ensure it does not include special characters in the file name (examples: $, &, or #)

Does the full name on your ID document match the full name on your registered Amazon account? Does the country on either your ID document or Bank Statement/ Credit Card Statement match the

country you have selected here? Is your Bank Statement/ Credit Card Statement issued within the past 90 days? If you are using Personal Bank Statement/ Personal Credit Card Statement, does the full name on your

statement match the full name on your ID documents? Does your Bank Statement/ Credit Card Statement show transaction titles (you can blank out value of

transactions)? Are all your submitted documents not cropped (all edges can be seen)? Is your ID Document valid (not expired, revoked or closed) and its expiration date matches your input in

the field “Expiration date” in Seller Central? Are all your submitted documents in high-quality, in color and unobstructed (not angled, blur or

cropped)? Are all your submitted documents authentic and unaltered? Are all your submitted documents not a screenshot? Are all your submitted documents supported in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi,

Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Viet language? If not, did you submit notarized translations in a supported language?

3.7 Results of identity validation

After document submission, you will see below notification. Amazon’s Seller Identity Verification team will review all of your information and documents and this process usually takes within 2 business days.

Successful Application

There will only be email updates if your application is unsuccessful. Please log in to Seller Central 2-3 business days later if you did not receive any email updates about your application to check if you are approved and can start selling.

Unsuccessful Application

If your submitted documents do not meet the requirements for our review team’s verification of your seller identity, you may review your documents against this checklist to ensure all criteria are met, and resubmit your documents by logging into Seller Central. Please note that you only have a total of 3 resubmission tries.

Unable to Resubmit Documents

If you have exceeded the maximum limit of 3 resubmission tries, you will see a message denying your seller identity on seller central and you will not be able to resubmit your documents. In this case, you can submit the correct documents to our Selling Partner Support team via ‘Get Support’. The Support team will raise your appeal request to an internal Review team who will respond to you via email.

4.1 Frequently Asked Questions

1) My documents were declined, what should I do?Your submitted documents currently do not meet the requirements for our review team’s verification of your seller identity.

Review this document carefully again to ensure all document criteria are met. Reupload or resubmit as necessary, as you will need to resubmit your documents that meet the requirements on Seller Central for successful verification.

To help you with your registration, please ensure your documents have met all requirements by using our checklist before resubmission. If you need support, click on the “Get Support” button located at the bottom of your screen.

2) How can I resubmit my documents?Please log in to Seller Central to resubmit your documents. For security reasons, we only accept documents uploaded to this page. It has been designed to help protect the information we need for verification.

Before your resubmission, please ensure your documents have met all requirements by using our checklist. Please note that you have a total of 3 resubmission tries.

3) Why can’t I resubmit my documents in Seller Central?If you have exceeded the maximum limit of 3 resubmission tries, you will see a message denying your seller identity on seller central and you will not be able to resubmit your documents.

What you can do: Please ensure your documents have met all requirements by using our checklist and appeal by submitting the correct documents to our Selling Partner Support team via ‘Get Support’. 4) Why can’t I log on to Seller Central to resubmit my documents? I am redirected to another site and I cannot proceed.This could be a technical error. Please send an email to [email protected] with the email account used for your seller account, provide a description and screenshots of the log in issue. We will get back to you at the earliest to assist you.

5) Can I submit National ID? I only see ‘Driver’s License’ and ‘Passport’ for identity document types.Yes you can submit National ID. If you do not see it as an option from the drop down selection of Identity Document type, you may use the option of ‘Driver’s License’ and input the requested information that matches your National ID. Please ensure the ID number, expiry date, country of issuance, full name, and address keyed in Seller Central matches the National ID document that you will be submitting.

11) My passport has no signature, can it be accepted?No, it is not acceptable. All passports across the world has a signature section. For some countries it is on a different page (e.g. Singapore) – please check your passport for the bearer’s signature page.

12) What are all the acceptable identity document languages?Acceptable document languages: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Viet.

13) What can I do if my documents are not supported within the list of acceptable languages?Please submit notarized translations (must be accompanied with stamp and signature on document).

14) Would I be charged for subscription fees if I opened a seller account on Singapore store but did not list any products on Amazon.sg?Monthly subscription fee for selling on Amazon.sg is waived off till 31 December 2022. However if you are also selling on other Amazon stores, you will still pay the monthly subscription fee for those stores.

After the promotion for monthly subscription fee waiver has ended, your credit card will be charged for payment of subscription fee for the first month as soon as you complete the registration process and after your information is verified. We will charge your selling account balance in future months or your Credit card if you have negative balance in your account at the end of a settlement period.

15) I already have a registered account in another Amazon marketplace, do I still need to register again on Amazon Singapore? Generally speaking, if your registration in other Amazon Stores have been approved and are in normal operation, you simply need to complete these steps to start selling on Amazon Singapore store.

16) I am from Japan but currently I live in Thailand. I only have a Japan ID and Thai bank statement, is this acceptable?Yes, since your residential is in Thailand, you may upload Japan ID and a bank statement that reflects your full Thailand address. If you are rejected, you may appeal by submitting the documents to our Selling Partner Support team via ‘Get Support’ and explain your situation. The Support team will raise your appeal request to an internal Review team who will respond to you via email.

17) Can I create multiple selling accounts on Singapore store, or across different Amazon stores?It is recommended to use only one selling account to register across Amazon stores or within the same marketplace to avoid rejection during seller identity validation.

5.4 After appeal

Note:

Under normal circumstances you will receive the first e-mail reply within two working days of your submission of appeal documents. If after five working days you have not received a reply, you can carry out second appeal, attaching eligibility documents that you have previously submitted. If you repeatedly send the same documents without waiting for five working days, or you send your appeal to Amazon through other channels, Amazon may identify your repeated appeals as spam mail and not reply you earlier.

Amazon will review the information that you submit as soon as possible. We will send our reply to Performance Notifications in Seller Central.If the Performance Notification that you receive requires that you re-submit updated documents, please read carefully the reasons for rejection and file a new appeal following these steps.

We recommend that you send a new set of materials, for example:• Statements for pipeline or natural gas, electricity, water or Internet services during the past 3 months

consecutively• Alternatively, you can submit other documentary proof to help Amazon confirm that your current

business or residential address is the same as that provided in Seller Central

Please provide detailed evidence to help Amazon understand the relationship between you and the individual with whom public utilities are registered. For example you can provide the following as supplementary evidence for review by relevant department:

• Color photograph/color scan of household registration book: Applies to situations in which the legal representative and the person in the statement are registered under the same household

• Marriage certificate: Applies to situations where the legal representative and the individual in the statement are husband and wife

• VAT invoice for water, electricity and gas: If you are unable to provide statements containing the address that you provided to Seller Central, you can submit statements for water, electricity and gas for an address attaching VAT invoices for such utilities for address including that provided to Seller Central.

5.6 Common mistakes made during account review

The following mistakes may cause your appeal to be rejected or its response delayed:

Mistake 1: Repeated submission of files before Amazon has sufficient time to review your appeal.

We will send our reply to Performance Notifications in Seller Central. Please do not repeatedly submit yourappeal or send your appeal to Amazon through other channels before you receive any reply. This is becauseAmazon may identify your repeated appeals as spam mail and not reply you earlier.

Mistake 2: Submit incomplete documents or those that are hard to identify or that have been tamperedwith or labeled or screenshots.

Please submit only color scans or photocopies of your documents. Make sure that all pages are in place.Avoid changing your document in any manner, including addition of remarks, watermark or comments.

Mistake 3: Submit expired or invalid documents.

Amazon currently accepts only statements for public utilities like gas, electricity and water and Internet servicesduring the past 90 days. We do not accept any other type of statements or invoices, including those for mobilephone, purchase of raw materials, products, purchasing agreement and screenshot of e-mails. Please note thatAmazon accepts only documents in pdf, png or gif format.

Mistake 4: Documents do not meet quality requirements.

You must never submit photoshopped documents or those that are altered (including labels and commentson photographs). There must not be stains covering relevant information, and you cannot submit screenshots.
