Jesus is making His final journey to Jerusalem....

But He has to pass through Jericho first which is 17 miles to the east of Jerusalem. On His way into the town he heals a blind man. But something happens on His way out of Jericho too.

I. These blind men are in a helpless condition vs 30

III. Bartimaeus and the other man were healed by the Great Physician vs 32-34

Today it is estimated that 39 million people around the world are blind, with another 285 million who are visually impaired. 90% of the world’s blind are in developing countries. This means that the majority of todays blindness is treatable and preventable. Tragic? Yes. But the world has a much bigger problem.

Since the beginning of time the world has been in spiritual blindness!

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (II Cor 4:3,4)

The greatest tragedy about spiritual blindness is that it is 100% treatable!
