AMANDA WATKINS BIO PH: 0417250557 Amanda has over sixteen year’s extensive experience with Drug & Alcohol, Mental Health and Sexual Health Promotion. Designing and delivering a variety of training tools and resources to educate about health, social and psychological harms of alcohol and other drug use/misuse to young people, families and the community. Amanda has taken a proactive approach, determined to make a difference at the coal face with cutting edge ideas and strategies to address the key issues with young people in today’s society. Amanda has an excellent understanding of the range of health issues facing young people and the strategies that can be employed by teenagers, parents and community leaders to promote better- informed and safer decisions about drug and alcohol use. Amanda is a highly professional and self motivated person who has achieved great results within Community Drug Action Teams CDAT’s. Over the past ten years Amanda created and delivered outstanding awareness and educational projects including ‘Stop the Supply’ campaign www.stopthesupply.org.au Her experience has enabled her to create multi-modal approaches to drug and alcohol peer education programs, workshops, development of resources educational campaigns and innovative use of social media and technology. Amanda has won excellence in Prevention and Community Education in the National Drug & Alcohol awards for peer education programs, such as DSP and ‘Reset’ and Australian HIV AIDS Day Award for Innovation – Youth Graffiti Project.
