When you listen to the pre-flight announcement from the flight attendant on a plane, perhaps the most important instructions they’ll say are “In the event of a loss in cabin pressure, put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others.”

Pankaj who has just finished his Gold qualification gets a call from the Amway office. He is informed to visit the office with his explanation on all that the customers have told. Subsequently, his qualification is denied and he is suspended from the business for misrepresenting the Amway products.

business is growing at a hectic pace!! I have already qualified as a Silver Producer and am on my

way to reaching the Gold level soon.

Oh! I am selling mainly

personal care and cosmetic products. And they sell

like hot cakes.

Plain Speak...Ramesh Kumar had been in the business for some months now and was slowly and steadily building his downline group and retailing the products as per the requirements of his customers. One day he met his old neighbor and another ABO Pankaj Lal in the market.

Ramesh knew that what Pankaj was doing was wrong and was ethically not correct and sooner or later this will land him in trouble. He tried to caution Pankaj as he was a good friend.

Amendment to Existing Rule

With effect from 1 May, 2007 the return policy on Business Support Materials (BSMs) under provision of Rule 7.2.7.4 stands amended. All non Amway BSMs returned henceforth within 30 days of purchase shall be eligible for refund subject to all other existing requirements.

Formal complaints were taken from all the customers and upon further investigations into Pankaj Lal’s retailing business, many more customers who were sold the products as remedy for ailments were identified and statements taken from them.

Soon enough, a lot of disgruntled customers of Pankaj started visiting the local Amway office….

In February, Nanhe Chitrakaar 2007 was held in as

many as 41 locations, which drew over 4000

children from the Amway family. This year’s theme

of ‘Wildlife and Environment’ elicited enthusiastic

response from participants and the results were

appreciated by all present. AOF had tied-up with

Arts teachers from schools in each of these cities to

be Judges, and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)

representatives made a wildlife and conservation

presentation in some locations. The winning

paintings now adorn the walls of the

Amway offices along with the

family-portrait of the winners. All

participants were presented

AOF’s Chairman, William Pinckney.Special invitees at all such locations included

children from state and NGO-run Homes and

Institutes, whose participation added a fresh

dimension to Nanchit 2007. The special invitees -

some of whom were among the winners – enjoyed

the experience thoroughly. The winners received

specially designed certificates and gifts.Under the aegis of Project Muskaan, 20 sets of

three-tier beds were presented to the Debananda

Ashram,Burdwan (West Bengal).Swami Debananda,

Founder of the Debananda Trust, thanked AOF for

this philanthropic gesture to cater to this small

orphanage situated in this distant district of

Burdwan in West Bengal. Also present was the S.D.O,

Smt Namita Roy Mallik, who was appreciative of

AOF's efforts to support a small orphanage in the

District. Other dignitaries like the local MLA, Shri

Prabhat Roy, District Welfare Officer, Shri Liaqat Ali

spoke about Debannada Ashram's contribution to

the rural areas & thanked AOF for this support.A cultural show at Chandigarh, where ABOs and

their children put up skits, sang songs etc, was

enjoyed by all. This show marked a first – the first

time ABOs took to the stage for AOF. Other events

included a magic show at Pune, where ABOs

gathered in droves to enjoy the tricks

of India’s youngest magician –

Suhasini. At a Typhoid camp at

Kumbum – over 50 ABOs were

vaccinated.An audio library comprising of a

recording deck, 100 cassettes, 10

sets of headphones, 1 mike, 1 steel

cupboard, 1 table and some chairs were donated

to the Government High School for the Blind at

Thanjavur. The amount for this event came from

the Hep B Camp fund-raiser held earlier last year.

Other donations were made at Raipur,

Ahmedabad & Mumbai.

‘AOF Day’ was celebrated at select locations in East

- Patna, Ranchi, Kolkata & Bhubaneshwar. Blood

Donation Camps were held at following locations –

Kolkata (70), RO North (38), Bhawanipatna (125),

Hubli (40) and Tuticurin (75).
