Organized By: Alumni Club “ Kshitij” , RDIAS , in association with Sports Committee, RDIAS .

Motivation for the activity : Alumni are an integral part of RDIAS fraternity, present achievements and future hopes. Keeping this in mind, With pride and joy Alumni Club “ Kshitij ” ,RDIAS host the Cricket Match to continue everlasting ties with alumni. This was a rare opportunity to reminisce on the old times and find out more about what is happening in your Alma- Mater, also it provides a chance to catch up with old classmates, old teachers and many old and new memories. The event along with making them nostalgic, will also inculcate sportsman spirit, teamwork, integrity, discipline.

Part 1

Aim of the event :

The alumni friendly cricket match aims to foster a sense of community among alumni,

while supporting a sense of connectedness back to the institution feeling i.e. RDIAS. This

will help them meet people they have met never before, or to establish or renew

friendships and acquaintances. This meeting provides a platform to alumni to exchange

information about their work, experiences and help each other with networking needs

such as hiring, referrals for specific expertise, or looking for a new job.

Sports are a part and parcel of human life and Cricket is one of the most enthusiastic

games observed in the world. It is a game of passion, which teaches team work, patience,

harmony and sportsman spirit. It helps learn that winning or losing is not important, the

spirit of playing is to give your all and strive for the best.

Keeping in pace with these aims, Alumni Club, RDIAS organized the Alumni Friendly Cricket Match on October

20, 2018. The event saw the alumni flocking the ground, brimming with enthusiasm and excitement for the day.

Part 2

Abstract :

The event was organized in order to promote and foster interaction amongst the Alumni and inculcate the spirit of

sportsman. The event was started with the toss of the match in presence of Dr. Manoj Kumar Gupta, Dr. Imran

Khan, Ms. Tanuja Saroha, Ms. Tripti Nagpal, Ms. Himanshi and Ms. Abha Gupta.

The team Blasters wins the toss and chooses to Bat first. They gave a target of 137 runs to the Team Strikers.

Strikers try hard to chase the score but end up with 92 runs only.

The alumni were seen in full swing and sportsman spirit. It seemed to be a real recreation and competition for

them. The event helped everyone unwind their sporting strings and get ready for the time to come.

All the participants were awarded by giving away medals and participation certificates.

Winning team along with Best Bowler, Best Batsman, and Man of the Match were awarded by trophies. The best

part about the event was that we got to see different facets of the personalities of alumni .Thus reinforcing the fact

that individuals are versatile in nature, we need time and space to judge them!!

Part 3

Conclusion

The discipline, patience, courage, and optimism learnt on the playgrounds are the qualities that lead to victory not

just in sports but in all the aspects of life. It is with this objective that the event was organized and it managed to

achieve it in its true sense and meaning. The event culminated on the note that we shall meet again in the next

year on the playground being more resolute, hungrier for success but above all with the firm belief and intent that

being defeated is not losing but quitting surely is.

The event was a confluence of activities, fun, frolic and not to forget. This platform proved to be a relief for the

alumni from their grueling work schedule .It also provided ample space and opportunity for alumni to strengthen

the bond with their Alma Mater.
