You don’t have to look very far to see the reasons forthe location of our 22nd International AluminiumConference. Dubai and Bahrain, with the world-classsmelters of Dubal and Alba, are today the centre ofgravity of a rapidly emerging, modern and low-costaluminium smelting community that stretches fromEgypt to India. With abundant energy resources and adesire to industrialise, create jobs and maximise exportrevenues, the region could see aluminium productionrise to 5-6m tpy compared with just under 2m tpy atpresent.

From Moscow in 2006, to Dubai in 2007, the location of ourInternational Aluminium Conference increasingly mirrors theglobal shift in market dynamics east and southwards. Naturally

the conference programme will also examine this trend, withinsight into emerging markets such as China and India.

As an international conference, it will also analyse and reviewthose issues that are common to the industry worldwide. This isan industry that is rapidly reshaping to meet the challenges of thefuture. A wave of consolidation is sweeping through thealuminium world, driven by the need to keep costs competitive,to secure cheaper energy and raw materials, and to accessgrowth marketplaces wherever they are around the globe.

Aluminium has a healthy future, but to participate successfully inthis, you need to be sure you know where the businessopportunities lie, or your competitors will get there first. If youwant to know who is doing what, what is driving the market, andhow these dynamics are changing, then join us for our 22ndInternational Aluminium Conference in Dubai.

Field TripsAll registered delegates are also invited to take part in these optional field trips:

Dubai Aluminium and Port facilitiesSunday 9 September 2007From a relatively small smelter with three potlines producing136,000 tpy of aluminium during the early 1970s, Dubal hasexpanded its operations to encompass eight potlines that producemore than 861,000 metric tonnes of quality hot metal aluminiumfor clients in more than 44 different countries. Extrusion ingot -primarily 6063 grade - represents roughly 55% of Dubal's totalproduction, though the company is also currently one of theworld's largest suppliers of foundry alloys for automotive wheelmanufacturers.

The Dubal complex is situated approximately an hour’s drivealong the coast from Dubai City, adjacent to the Jebel Ali FreeZone. From Jebel Ali, Dubal’s aluminium products are exported tosome 56 different ports around the world, while the port is alsoused for the importing of Dubal's main raw material - alumina.
