In Alternative rock magazines, it quite often seems

that there is a quirkiness about the artists in the main

image but it also depends on who they are as a

character. Generally, the masthead is placed at the

top of the magazine, and often has the musician or

band in front of it. The person normally wears clothes

that connote rock music, so this could be skinny jeans,

quite a lot of black etc. However, since this is a sub-

genre of rock, the colours can be more varied and

bright.

The main image quite often covers the title of the

magazine.

The people in the main image always look at the

audience.

Often has free posters inside.

Usually has bright colours- either the lettering, the main

image or the background.
