Whether you’re in the mood for a dedicated home theater or an entertainment system integratedinto your living room, Draper offers you reliable, affordable and innovative theater products.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the show! (Warning: craving for popcorn may result from viewing.)

Viewing SurfacesM1300The perfect matt white diffusing surface. Extremely broad light dispersion and spectral uniformity.Panoramic viewing angle and true color rendition. Recommended for use with any type of projectorin rooms where the light level can be reasonably controlled. Washable. In a dedicated home theatrethis surface provides the logical choice.

AT1200AT1200, a Draper exclusive, is the most innovative and versatile acoustically transparentscreen material available. It’s woven, not perforated, thus reducing light loss and pixel loss. This revolutionary advance for home theatres allows the viewer (and listener) to position thecenter channel speaker directly behind the screen—the optimum location for full range audioperformance. With over 76,000 microscopic openings per square foot, AT1200 has the soundtransmission characteristics of high quality speaker grille cloth. AT1200 provides a uniform gainmatt white surface slightly superior to the standard one-gain material. Offered in differentDraper screen models, AT1200 provides a flat viewing surface and requires no tensioning system. It is washable, flame and mildew resistant. Available in sizes through diagonal NTSC.

M2500A high-contrast front viewing surface, with excellent resolution and high gain. Outstanding blackretention: ideal for data-graphics projectors producing up to 1000 ANSI lumens. M2500 tolerates asignificantly higher ambient light level than any other front projection screen surface. Available onall permanently tensioned and tab-tensioned screens.

HiDef GreyA grey front projection surface that provides greater contrast and black reproduction than standardsurfaces, with a lower gain to handle today’s super-bright projectors. HiDef Grey is designed witha low gain of 0.9 to meet the demands of today’s high-output video projectors. The grey colorenhances color contrast and black levels in the projected image and also allows for more ambientlight in the audience area than traditional surfaces. Available on all tab-tensioned screens in sizesthrough diagonal NTSC, and permanently tensioned screens through diagonal NTSC.

Fiberglass Matt WhiteA matt white vinyl reflective surface laminated to tear-resistant woven fiberglass. Matt whitediffuses projected light in all directions, so the image can be seen from any angle. Providesaccurate color rendition as well as superior clarity. Recommended for use with all high lightoutput projection devices. Requires control of ambient light in the audience area. Washable, flame and mildew resistant. Now available seamless in all standard sizes through diagonal NTSC.

Glass BeadedBrighter on-axis viewing than matt white surfaces, excellent color rendition with some loss of clarity.Somewhat narrower viewing cone than matt surfaces. Not for use with ceiling or floor mountedprojectors. Flame and mildew resistant, but cannot be cleaned. Now available seamless in allstandard sizes through diagonal NTSC.

CineflexA neutral grey vinyl for rear projection. Cineflex has high resolution and excellent contrast, even in lighted rooms. For use with any type of projection equipment.

The charts depict gain values at various points, measured in degrees from projection axis. Gain is a measureof brightness as compared to a block of magnesium carbonate, which serves as a standard for gain of 1.0.These charts also help in judging uniformity. The flatter the curve in the portion of the viewing cone whereviewers will be seated, the more constant the image they will perceive.

Electric Screens

• Ceiling-Recessed

Access CaseEasy Installation—Easy AccessIt’s easy to see why the Access Series is so popular. Designed with solutions in mind, the casefeatures include:

Hanging brackets slide in channels on top of the case, allowingunlimited adjustment to avoid interference with conflictingbuilding structures. ❶

A pre-wired junction box inside (left end standard), and cable exitholes on top.

“Pin connector” electrical connection of screen to junction boxeliminates tools.

Flange trims the opening of any type of ceiling. ❷

Bottom of case forms a slot for fabric passage ❸ , and the bottom panel is removable without toolsfor installation or replacement of screen.

The screen (viewing surface attached to roller) comes with easy-to-install roller brackets. These slidealong a track inside the top of the case, and may be locked in place at any point so the case canaccommodate different sizes of screens. Since both brackets are movable, the screen can always becentered in the case—regardless of case size. A large case allows for nearly unlimited flexibility.

The Access case may be ordered in advance of the screen or alone. The installation of a ceiling-recessed projection screen in the aftermarket may cost more than the screen itself, so a pre-installedceiling-recessed housing adds real value. You can select, order and install the desired Access Seriesscreen at any later date.

Need to install a projection screen in front of a window?Draper has a new approach to the problem of projection screens in front of window openings. Withthe Access Dual Roller FlexShade, you can have a motorized window shade that covers and sealsthe window light, plus a Series E projection screen with your choice of format and viewing surface, both in the same recessed Access headbox. See page 29 for more information.

Access SeriesAccess/Series V—available with theunparalleled performance of our TabTensioning System in M1300, M2500 andHiDef Grey front projection surfaces, as wellas the Cineflex rear projection surface.

Access/Series E—your choice of a conventionalviewing surface: acoustically transparentAT1200 , fiberglass matt white or glass beaded.

What If...What if you know you want a ceiling-recessed screen, but you don’t know what projector (orprojectors) will be used. Therefore, you don’t know the optimum size or aspect ratio of the screen, the optimum screen surface, or whether tab tensioning is required.

✔✔✔✔✔ No problem with the Access—Order the case now. Just make sure it’s large enough to accept thelargest screen you think you may need. Order the screen later, after the projector decision is made.Or, let the home owner make the decision at a later date.

What if technology changes? What if a new projection format is introduced, or Draper introduces asuperior new screen surface?

✔✔✔✔✔ No problem with the Access—It’s quick, easy and comparatively inexpensive to replace the screen inan Access with no extra electrical or ceiling work.

Access ConceptThe Access Series is the most versatileceiling-recessed screen on the market. Job sitedamage can be avoided, and tough decisionsregarding screen size, aspect ratio and viewingsurface can be deferred until the appropriatetime by using this innovative screen solution.

Case Now/Screen Later—The essence of theAccess concept is a unique ceiling-recessed,extruded aluminum headbox. The screenitself—viewing surface attached to roller—caneither be furnished with the headbox or at anytime thereafter. The screen installs in minuteswith only a hex key.

Access and Access Dual Roller FlexShadesRemember the Access projection screen concept? (See page 4.) We’ve incorporated that same idea ina window shade. The Access FlexShade is a single motorized or bead chain/clutch operated shade(mesh, translucent or room darkening fabric) in an extruded aluminum headbox with a bottomclosure panel that forms a slot for fabric passage. Install the aluminum case above the window jambduring construction, and the roller and shade are easily added at a later date.

Want both glare control and room darkening in the same window opening? Choose Access DualRoller FlexShades. Two individual shades are vertically stacked in a single recessed headbox. Oneshade is light filtering and the other room darkening. The opaque shade is available with or withoutthe side/sill channel design. Also available with a projection screen/opaque shade combination.

Motorized and Manual FlexShadesSingle FlexShades are easy to incorporate into any home decor. Choose the operator: bead chain/clutch, spring roller or crank for manual operation, or a motor-in-roller electric design. All motorizedFlexShades are compatible with master control systems, so light control is an integral part of yourhome automation system. Choose the fabric: mesh or opaque. Choose the mounting technique:brackets, fascia with endcaps, or headbox with endcaps.

IRUS TechnologyThe !"#$%"

#$ &—is specifically designed to providemaximum legibility with anyprojector. Today’s projectors offerhigher resolution than ever before—and that means sharper, crisperimages. The IRUS is up to thechallenge.

To maintain digital image quality, theIRUS uses proprietary technology todisplay the sharpest, most uniformimage you’ve ever seen. An im-provement for every rear screenapplication, the IRUS actuallyprovides higher resolution than thehuman eye can perceive. The image isso consistent that it can be clearlyperceived even at '( off axis.

Rear Projection Systems!#) take the guesswork out of rear screensystem design. A system folds the light from the projector sourceusing the finest optical quality, first surface glass mirror. Thesystem provides perfect rear screen picture quality while savingvaluable floor space. Three systems to choose from:

• Adjustable RPSMirror height, projector height, mirror angle, and projectorposition (front-to-back) are all adjustable.

• RPS/PrecisionThe world’s most precise image alignment capabilities in acustom-built rear projection system. With incredible accuracy, itgives you isolated adjustment of a projector in all six axes:height, front-to-back position, side-to-side position, pitch, rolland yaw.

• RPS/CompleteAll the features of an *+#)plus a framed rear screenattached to the structural uprights. Framed screen “floats” inyour wall opening. The wall does not bear the weight of thescreen, so no finishing or reinforcement of the opening isrequired. Cut a rough opening and set up the system. Eachelement is square with the others: screen-to-projector platform; projector platform-to-mirror; mirror-to-screen.Save installation time, plus installation of projector and alignment of image is made easier.

Diffusion Rear ScreensA transparent substrate, either glass or acrylic, with a permanently bondeddiffusion medium. The diffusion medium distributes projected light andcreates a uniform high-resolution reproduction of the projected image.&,!-diffusion rear screen, is unique among rearscreens, because its diffusion medium consists of both an optical coatingand an optical tint—each formulated for specific requirements. Theadvantages of diffusion screens are superior clarity of image andavailability in extremely large sizes. This characteristic can be anadvantage in a room with a tiered seating pattern.

• Cinescreen®

!-&differ from any other rigid rear projection screensin two extremely important respects. &optical coatings areinherently abrasion resistant. No other manufacturer offers you thisprotection. Only !offers you a choice of six different opticalcoatings, each available in your choice of three unique optical tints. Witha !&, you can select the optimum combination of opticalcoating and tint based upon your projection equipment, audience seatingpattern, desired contrast level, screen aspect ratio, ambient light level andaesthetic considerations. Only !offers you this versatility.

!uses the finest plate glass and clear acrylic as &substrates. Virtually identical optical qualities.

• Cineglass®—Recommended for maximum sound isolation, scratchresistance and service life. Weighs approximately twice as much as acrylic, breaks more easily, must be installed by a glazier.

• Cineplex®—Lightweight, durable and break resistant. Easier to install.Requires more care in cleaning, as acrylic scratches more easily than glass.Less soundproof than glass.

When ordering a &, we need to know the following:

Dimensions, substrate, thickness, optical coating, tint, if ArmorKote® orNonGlare is required, if factory-installed framing is required.

Rear-Projection Screens

Draper offers several distinct types of rigid rear projection screens—traditional diffusion and optical screens, holographic screens and exclusive IRUS technology. Let us help choose which one’s right for your system.

Optical Rear ScreensMade of cast acrylic, incorporating a Fresnellens on the projector side. The Fresnel lensgathers the light from the projector andrefracts it directly through the screen.

OnyxThe new generation of permanently tensioned screens begins with the !8 . You won’t find a more“user friendly” screen anywhere else on the market. You can have a beautifully framed image hanging on the wallin just to minutes, with one or two people assembling. Its wide beveled, extruded aluminum frameinterconnects on site without tools. Each side piece slip-fits tightly to injection molded plastic corners, formingperfectly mitered edges.

A radical new approach to fabric attachment will amaze even the toughest of critics. No snaps! Uniform tensionis applied to the entire surface area. Includes a feature to adjust the sag out of the fabric as time and gravityrelaxes the viewing surface.

The wide black frame absorbs projector “wash”. You may also add the optional velvety black .?to theframe to eliminate reflections. Choose your viewing surface: ,, ,or .Offered in all projection formats up to a maximum custom size of .

ClarionOn the original , an extruded aluminum trim frame conceals the perimeter of the structural frame, towhich the viewing surface is snapped. The ¾ aluminum trim is black. You may also add the optional velvetyblack .?to the frame to eliminate reflections.

The professionally finished border gives the an attractive, theatre-like appearance.

The installs easily and is available in these front projection surfaces: ,, ,

,and 4**. Offered in all projection formats up to wide.

ShadowBox ClarionThe 1*34 is simply designed: the fabric is stretched and attached to the back side of a ½

tubular aluminum frame. The visible black frame serves as the perimeter border around the image area. Manyhome theatre designers use the 1*34behind elaborate draperies or build the screen into custom cabinetry.

The 1*34 is compatible with , and front projection surfaces.rear projection vinyl is also available. Offered in all projection formats up to wide.

WrapAround Style ClarionThe viewing surface on a >!* literally wraps around the aluminum frame and attachesto the back side, making the frame invisible to the audience. While the absence of borders may be somewhat lessfunctional, many architects and designers prefer the look.

The >!* is custom made using either , or viewing surfacesin all projection formats up to wide.

CinepermThe !, !- most economical permanently tensioned screen, consists of a tubular aluminumframe with a snap-on viewing surface attached to the front side of the frame. The snaps are set in a wide blackleatherette border concealing the frame. Because the snap heads and the border are exposed, the !appears less “finished” than other permanently tensioned screens. However, the ! is the perfect screenfor custom applications involving a cabinet enclosure or the !&!&5 .

The ! is offered with your choice of ,,, or surfaces, in allprojection formats up to wide. Sizes larger than ½ are manufactured with truss-style construction, using a wide frame and border.

Permanently Tensioned ScreensThe primary advantage of permanently tensioned projection screens is the perfectly flat viewing surface theyprovide—just the ticket for the ultimate home viewing experience. Plus, these screens are light weight, easyto install and virtually maintenance free.

RPS/Complete: choice of IRUS, Vortex,Cinescreen or DiamondScreen in a System 400frame. Screen sizes through high x wide.
