Alma the Youngers andRepentance

ScripturePrint off the pictures and glue the corresponding numbered sentence to theback of each picture. Then laminate and tell the story. Print of the pictureof the good and bad faces and laminate the picture. While you tell the storymake a list with a dry erase marker of all of the bad actions Alma did underthe bad face. At the end of the story explain that Alma repented and HeavenlyFather forgave. Erase all of the bad actions and explain how this can be donewhen your child repents as well.

17 After two days and nights, Alma theYounger received his strength and wasable to speak and move again. Mosiah27:2318 He told the people there that he hadrepented of his sins and that God hadforgiven him. Mosiah 27:2419 He said that everyone must becomerighteous in order to enter Gods kingdom,

and he told them of the great pain hehad suffered because of his sins. Mosiah27:2526, 2820 After repenting, Alma the Youngerwas happy because God had forgiven him.He knew that God loved him. Mosiah 27:2921 Alma the Younger and the sons of KingMosiah began to teach the truththroughout the land, telling everyone

what they had heard and seen. Mosiah27:3222 They tried to undo the wrong thatthey had done. They explained thescriptures to the people and taughtthem about Jesus Christ. Ben the Peanut Butter boy learns about repentanceThis is ben. Once day bens mother told him to take the garbagecans out to the curbs so the garbage man could empty them, and toplease remember to put the lids on tightly to make sure the dogsdidnt get into the trash. Ben took the cans out, but ran off theplay with his friends . . . never stopping to put the lids on tightly.Later, when be came home, he found papers, rotten food, and othertrash all over the yard. How do you think ben felt?Because he had disobeyed, ben felt unhappy. He knew that by doingsomething wrong it was as if he had dirtied his spirit.(smear some peanut butter on the picture of ben)ben tried to help his mother around the house and be nice to hisbrothers and sisters, but sometimes it was hard. Once time he andhis brother both wanted to play with the same toy. They yelledat each other and hit each other. Ben won because he was bigger,but he had hit his brother and hurt his arm.
