The Alligator® is the brainchild of innovator Benny Engdahl, who got tired of chopping onions when he was making his favourite dish – Oland dumplings filled with pork. They require large quantities of potatoes and chopped onions, and everyone knows that chopping onions is a tearful affair, but it need not be any longer.

Benny Engdahl contacted his friend, graduateengineer Nikola Knezevic, who became responsible for the technical development of the product. The name Alligator came when his cousins 8 year old daughter said about the prototype: “Daddy, it looks just like an alligator with it’s jaws open!”... and the brand name was a fact.

For almost 20 years Alligator has been designing products that help simplify people’s lives. Today Alligator offers products for food preparation.
