Allianz Turkey, our network insurer and a leading figure of new generation insurance focused on technology, recently launched a new health product. The Com-plementary Group Health Insurance (Group CHI) was developed to assure customer satisfaction in all of its business segments.

Complementary Group Health Insurance Employers who decide to take up the Group CHI for their employees, enable them to use their Social Security Institution’s insurance coverage at private hospitals without paying for price gaps. It allows employees to use the wide network of institutions contracted by the Social Security Institution without making any extra payment to the hospital, excluding the insured’s share.

In Turkey, healthcare services at contracted private hospitals are only covered up to a certain limit by the Social Security Institution. With Group CHI, the price gap usually paid by the patient/insured, will be completely covered. Hence, CHI insurance holders will benefit from medical examinations, tests and observations without making extra payments; inpatient treatments and surgeries will be covered 100 % according to the policy conditions.

Why you should prefer Group CHI? The Group CHI product allows you to offer a package that includes the most needed services to your emplo-yees.

The package can include only inpatient treatment coverage or outpatient treatment coverage and / or maternity coverage can be added to the package. When customizing the product based on your company’s requests, you can decide on coverage limit and payment

percentile and include additional services to your packa-ge, depending on your preferences.

No waiting period required!Insureds covered by a policy shall not be subject to any waiting period, excluding 90-day waiting period required by the Social Security Institution for entitlement to the services.

Additional services availableIf you want, you may add the following services to the Group CHI policy.• Psychiatric Examination (2 times a year)• Dental Care Package ** Dental Care Package; Dentist’s Appointment, Dental Cleaning (scaling) and Single Teeth X-ray (Periapical).

The health insurance segment in India is rapidly growing. On August 1, 2015 the Indian health insurance indus-try was worth $1.3 bn with a growth rate of 19%. Our network insurer Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Compa-ny Ltd ranks 8th among the health insurers in India and holds a share of market of 4%.

Bajaj Allianz launched its first health insurance policy in 2001 and therefore can be called one of the pioneers of private health insurance in India. They started off with one retail plan and in the journey of the last almost 15 years have reached up to 17 health products including the 2014 launched four products: Surgical Protection Plan, Healthcare Supreme, Loan Care and Comprehen-sive Care Plan.

Bajaj Allianz realized in 2004 that delivering a great customer experience is a continuous process. Therefore the Health Administration Team (HAT) was conceptua-lized in order to provide comprehensive services across the country from health underwriting, product designing and development to claims administration, provider and wellness management. By doing so, Bajaj ensures to give personalized services for health insurance, one of the most sensitive lines of business, to their customers. Through generating the HAT as an in-house claims administration team, Bajaj Allianz eliminated the ‘Third Party Administrator’ striving to attain the status of being not just a claim manager but the best health provider in

the industry by constantly innovating their products and practices.

Digitalization plays an important role in the strategy of Bajaj Allianz. Their website provides an online buying and renewal tool as well as a Health Treatment Cost Calculator. Besides that they offer automated SMS alerts and online web portals. The need to constantly ideate and innovate the performance has driven Bajaj Allianz to automatize and digitalize their claims processes. Having moved from paper to web-based management of claims, Bajaj can provide one of the fastest claim processes in the market.

In India, the first choice component of an employee benefit strategy is offering medical benefits in form of group health insurance coverage followed by wellness programs. Through the support of 4,300 health care partner providers, more than 1,500 preferred providers and over 120 wellness partners across the country, Bajaj assists their clients in reducing their out-of-pocket expenses by offering an array of wellness programs and value added services.

Allianz Global Benefits’ Nordic partner, Danica Pension is determined to ensure that their online solutions are among the best in the Nordic market.

According to Michael Hansen, Head of International at Danica Pension, “Through our cooperation with Allianz Global Benefits we are in contact with varied internati-onal clients every week. What they all have in common is a strong need for user-friendly online solutions. We receive a positive feedback from multinationals based in both the United States of America and Europe, and this is extremely important when acquiring new clients in the local markets. When people who don’t deal with the Danish pension system on a daily basis understand it by using our online solutions, we must be doing something right. Danica Pension Check and the Danica Health Check are just some of our solutions.”

Danica Pension CheckCreated with the help of useful inputs from actuaries, finance experts and anthropologists, Danica Pension has delivered a digital financial planner. The Danica Pensi-on Check tool asks the individual pension customer to answer six questions on their current life situation, and then provides recommendations on what to do next. The questions cover areas such as job situation, salary increases/levels, mortgages, getting married or divorced, becoming a parent, as well as external savings and insurance policies.

A red, amber or green light quickly signals where they stand. A red light means the saver has far less than the

recommended savings or insurance cover, while amber indicates a better savings and insurance level, but it is still insufficient. A slide bar lets the client see how any adjustments, for example an increase in contributions or a delay in retirement age, would help him or her move into a different shade of the traffic light system. Danica proactively contacts savers whose Pension Check has resulted in red light within two to three days.

Pension industry assumptions examinedWhile developing the Pension Check tool, Danica Pensi-on received inputs from ReD Associates, which revealed that the pension industry has been communicating ba-sed on three false assumptions: that customers are fully informed about their savings, that they are rational about their decisions and that they know what they want. The reality is clearly different.

Once the model proves itself successful in Denmark, Danica Pension may also roll-out the Pension Check tool in Sweden and Norway, and increase its availability by using channels relevant to customers, such as mobile and tablets.

With its products and services, Allianz Life Korea (AZLK) insures corporate employees and their families against accidents and provides them with extensive health coverage.

Employee Benefits Plan - a focus product of AZLKThe Employee Benefits Plan of AZLK has a one year po-licy term and consists of a base plan with the possibility to add up to 18 riders. Through this modular product de-sign, a variety of benefits can be provided to employees, their spouses and children according to their needs. The following product components are currently being offered:

In addition, accidental death, disease-related death and accidental disability can either be guaranteed at a fixed amount or according to the annual salary so as to meet different needs of corporate clients in providing emplo-yee benefits.

As of the end of 2014, the AZLK Employee Benefits Plan provides insurance cover to 320,000 individuals from 320 groups, recording KRW 10bn in gross written premium (GWP). The majority (70%) of these policies are being sold via specially trained sales force. With their competence in planning the employee benefits plan and customer-focused service, they are now the most reliable sales force for group business in the South Ko-

rean group insurance market, and are receiving positive feedback for their swift and accurate service in underwri-ting and claims payout.

Launch of a (VUL) product for employees that guaran-tees medical indemnity after retirementAZLK also launched a product that specifically targets employees and is the first of its kind in the Korean group insurance market. The new product has been developed due to the fact that the purchase of medical indemnity, which is guaranteed for individual employees via group insurance during their employment, is limited after retirement. This new product fulfills the needs of indivi-duals who receive group medical indemnity guarantee by allowing customers to choose the medical indemnity guarantee option at the time of signing the contract and providing medical indemnity benefit through the policyholder reserve after retirement.

AZLK is focusing on the sales of the VUL product for employees through a variety of marketing efforts that include presentation sessions for existing group clients covered by the employee benefits plan as well as other groups that are interested in the concept of the new product. ____________________________________________Source: Allianz Life Insurance | Contact: Hyuntae Kim at [email protected] or +82 2 3787 7662
