HOW TO READ MANGA All traditional Japanese manga reads from right to left, the reverse of English, which reads from left to right. In original manga-style books, the action, the word bubbles, and sound effects are all written in this direction. Walker Books is proud to bring you VERMONIA which has been created in Tokyo by the Japanese manga collective YoYo and therefore follows all the traditions of true Japanese manga. The diagram below illustrates the correct way to read through the panels and word bubbles on a page. = Panel Order = Word Bubble Order Start reading in the upper right- hand corner.
