November 1 is Retired Educators Day Sunday, November 1, has been proclaimed Retired Educators Day

in Sumter County and in the State of Georgia.

We have a church full of educators and retired educators,

and we are grateful for each one.

We are also grateful for the educators of our school days

who touched our lives and made us better persons.

October 21, 2015 Dear Pastor Roe, I want to take a moment to thank you so much for the law enforcement appreciation dinner. It is not often enough that our law enforcement is recognized for the job they do. I enjoyed the gathering and fellowship with everyone. Your church members’ hospitality was greatly appreciated. The Sunday service was very touching and inspirational. I also want to thank everyone and the children for the packages that were made for our deputies. I wish they all could have attended; however, they were very grateful for their packages and crosses. If I can ever be of service to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Group Questions

November 1, 2015

Scripture: I Peter 1:1-7; Ephesians

Sermon Series: Spiritual Warfare

1 Spend a few moments in your group to remember the saints of the church that are now a part of the “cloud of witnesses.” How did they

impact your life? You walk with Christ? Your family? Your marriage? What is your most enduring memory of them?

2. Have you ever sensed that you were in a spiritual battle? If so, when?

3. When someone says “spiritual warfare” what immediately comes to mind?

4. What is your natural tendency in a conflict – to fight or to flee?

5. Does this undermine God’s strength in your life? If so, how?

6. Have you ever considered that a entrenched sin in your life or an unresolved conflict could in any way be related to spiritual warfare?

7. How does it help you to know that the power residing in you is the same power of God that raised Jesus from the dead?

8. Have you or any of your group members seen any trends of opposition in your life or theirs – areas where God wants you to grow or

serve and in which numerous obstacles come up?

9. Where do you see Satan’s influence in the culture in which you live?

10. Is there any God-given spiritual territory you have already given up to the enemy? How can you take it back?
