May 217 What Christmas is really about. A Christmas Message from Rev Zak Cronjé Christmas is about how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9 God doesn't love us because we are precious; we are precious because God loves us . This is the most astonishing truth about Christmas: God loves us. He loves us so deeply that He gave His Son Jesus Christ to be born as an infant in a manger, grew up and died for you and me on a cross at Golgotha, and aſter His resurrecon went to prepare a place for us in heaven. This is the reason why we witness and praise God, and proclaim the wonder of His love, redempon, grace and peace. The gate is open to everyone who wants to enter. This is the love-truth of Christmas! During this wonderful me of advent we have the opportunity that our own lives can reflect this extravagant love of God. Lives where someone elses tears are wiped off because they experienced our care and their focus was liſted to see Jesus and have a beer view of God. Our journey with people has to become part of Gods great story of restoraon and reconciliaon with the world. The great story of God bowing down in love to establish a personal relaon with everybody through Jesus Christ. What Christmas is really about. A Christmas Message from Rev Zak Cronjé Christmas is about how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that

we might live through him. 1 John 4:9 God doesn't love us because we are precious; we are precious because God loves us.

This is the most astonishing truth about Christmas: God loves us. He loves us so deeply that He gave His Son Jesus Christ to be born as an infant in a manger, grew up and died for you and me on a cross at Golgotha,

and after His resurrection went to prepare a place for us in heaven. This is the reason why we witness and praise God, and proclaim the wonder of His love, redemption, grace and peace.

The gate is open to everyone who wants to enter. This is the love-truth of Christmas! During this wonderful time of advent we have the opportunity that our own lives can reflect this extravagant love of God. Lives where someone else’s tears are wiped off because they experienced our care and their focus was lifted to

see Jesus and have a better view of God. Our journey with people has to become part of God’s great story of restoration and reconciliation with the world. The great story of God bowing down in love to establish a personal relation with everybody through Jesus Christ.

YOUTHCARE CHAPLAINCY QUIZ NIGHT

The Quiz was a huge success and in excess of

$1,800 was raised to support the Chaplaincy at

Churchlands SHS.

ALL SAINTS FLOREAT CHURCH COMMUNITY GARDEN (ASFCCG) has started a garden

next to the driveway out the back of the church.

It is a project started by the younger members of the church to produce an edible garden that

all those who use the church premises can use and enjoy. Its very early days but we have planted some

vegetables and herbs. We have also installed a worm farm and some seats so please go and have a look!

Last Sunday ASFCCG enjoyed a morning tea after church with members of the congregation to

celebrate the beginning of the garden

We’ve come a long way!

A very Merry Christmas and New Year to all of our Church com-munity users

KYB Luncheon to Celebrate Sylvia’s Birthday KYB-Know Your Bible is part of CWCI- Christian Women Communicating International, which this year celebrates the 60th

Anniversary of spreading God’s word throughout Australia and the world. It does this through Conventions and other special meetings; KYB Bible

studies – within churches and by correspondence (translated into at least 60 different languages); safaris into remote areas; a special ministry in

Melanesia; and many other forms of outreach. Next year our Floreat KYB group will celebrate 30 years of study here,

with more than 140 ladies involved over those years. Through fellowship, laughter and prayer all have enjoyed great times of learning and have

shared experiences, both sad and joyful.

This year the group studied the Gospel of John, Haggai & Zechariah, ‘The Holy Spirit’, and Solomon (2 Chronicles Ch.1-9) – a variety of inspirational studies which

helped us to better know our Bibles. KYB studies are well written and members do their ‘homework’ before coming together to share their answers and reflect on the meaning of the different passages. A nucleus of between 8 and 12 ladies meets in

the Vestry each Thursday morning during school terms. KYB studies recommence in February 2018 and we will begin by studying Genesis Chapters 1 to 11. Group Leaders Sylvia Ryan and Val Chew invite any ladies who

are interested in joining KYB to speak with them - and there is always the opportunity for men to start up a KYB group!

Supply Minister Zak Cronjé joins the party!
