PRAYER - If you have an urgent request you can activate the Prayer Chains at any time by calling either Di on 01295 713838 or texting Mary on 07842 162 795. All prayer requests treated with complete confidentiality.

ALL SOULS MEMORIAL SERVICE - At 4 pm on Sunday November 5th, All Saints Church will be welcoming families and friends of those who have died in the past year or whose anniversaries fall at this time, for an All Souls Service of remembrance. If you have anyone you wish to be named at the service, please give details to Chris 710076 or Violet 712431, or to the churchwardens. Please pass this information to any friends or neighbours who may want a loved one remembered in this way. All are welcome.

ROUND POUND AMNESTY COLLECTION - The old round pound coins ceased to be legal tender on 16 October, with   shops such as Sainsbury’s and M& S immediately refusing to accept them. Tesco has a week’s grace and banks will make their own individual decisions about how long they will accept them. Unload these old favourites which you might still come across in the next two weeks into our donations collecting jar by the church south door and we will put all the proceeds into the building fund for the Reroofing Morris project.

CHURCH FLOODLIGHTING Would you like to sponsor the floodlighting to celebrate a special event or in memory of a loved one? Floodlighting can be sponsored on a weekly basis with all notifications going in the village column in the Banbury Guardian. Please contact Keith White on 710 054

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD 2017 - SHOEBOXES BURSTING WITH JOYAll Saints church & Methodist chapel are again supporting this Samaritan’s Purse annual project and we hope you will join in. A shoebox wrapped in cheery paper and filled with small new gifts is probably the first and only Christmas present needy children around the world will ever receive. Take a medium size adult shoe box, wrap the lid and base separately, then fill with suitable new goodies either for a boy or girl in one of three age groups: 2-4 years, 5-9 years or 10-14 years; please include a donation of the £5.00 project cost to get each filled shoe box to a needy child (if you pay ‘on-line’ to Samaritan’s Purse and print a bar code to put in your box you will find out where it gets sent to).Drop off your box to All Saints, the Methodist chapel, or the Library, or The Butler’s Pantry during their normal opening times. Pick up an information leaflet about how to do a box at any of these places. Saturday 18th November is the last day for dropping off completed shoe boxes!! WRAP & FILL COFFEE MORNINGS with cakes sale:Our first Wrap & Fill session produced 45 completed shoe boxes. A big thank you to the 19 helpers who came along, but we need even more helpers at our next two sessions to wrap & fill shoe boxes with donated goodies, and write Christmas cards to put in the boxes, on Saturdays 28th October & 11th November, from 9.30am to 2.30pm, in the Methodist Schoolrooms, Queen Street, Middleton Cheney, OX17 2NP. Do come to help, you will be very welcome and enjoy a cuppa & cake & chat too! All funds raised at these mornings go towards this shoe box project.

Goodies needed - we are short of flannels, wrapped soap, combs, hair brushes, rulers, pencil sharpeners, pens. Thank you.

For enquiries please call Mary Phipps 712894 or Carol Souch 01295 521605.

BRING AND SHARE LUNCH November will soon be with us, and what could be more comforting than a nice hot baked potato with a choice of tasty toppings. Come and join us! everyone is welcome. Baked potatoes will be served at the next Shared Lunch on Sunday November 5th at 12.30pm in the Methodist Schoolroom. Please bring a topping or a pudding to share. The united service that day will be conducted by Deacon Margaret Hale in the Methodist Church at 10.45am.

OUR ELECTRICITY We buy our electricity through the Parish Buying Scheme, a bulk buying organisation run by the C of E, which helps parishes obtain highly competitive prices for their energy by clubbing together to make one large joint purchase. For the first time our new electricity contract will be 100% Green, produced from UK renewable sources, mainly solar panels. This was achieved at no extra cost, by negotiating with the supplier an allocation of their renewable supply equal to that required by the participating parishes.

BAGS FOR LIFE Many thanks to those people who have responded to the request to donate heavy duty or long-lasting supermarket or carrier bags to the Food Bank. The strong bags enable the Salvation Army to distribute the food items more efficiently.
