“What If?”

What if God had not fulfilled His covenant with His people? Only God’s chosen people believed in His prophesies. The “Greeks” (that’s us, for the most part) would still be worshiping idols. Instead, Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s covenant. God is faithful! What if God posted a wish list online? He desires a relationship with us. He does not ask for a gift. However, our gratitude should lead us to want to give to God. Proverbs 18:16 says, “A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great.” A true gift has no strings attached; we should have no expectations of God. What if we know what to expect? What expectation can we have of God since He created everything and has already given us an incom-parable gift? Blessings through His son! God made it exceedingly clear that we should “bring the whole tithe into the store-house” (Malachi 3:10), “a tithe of everything from the land” (Leviticus 27:20). God promised to “throw open the flood-gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have enough room for it” (Malachi 3:10). What if we “follow the money?” We are no longer under the law, but our gratitude for His grace should flow freely. So, where does our heart lie? ”Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheer-ful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). If we love Jesus, we will be faithful in our calling and generous in our giving. In Him, Fred & Sue Gregg
