Airline hubs are airports that an airline uses as a transfer point to get passengers to their intended destination. It is part of a hub and spoke model, where travelers moving between airports not served by direct flights change planes en route to their destinations. This is as opposed to the Point to Point model. Many hubs of the airlines are also situated at airports in the cities of the respective head offices.

Hubs

Page 26: All Nippon Airways

Some airlines may use only a single hub, while other airlines use multiple hubs. Hubs are used for both passenger flights as well as cargo flights.

Sabre QikSolution

QIK (Qantas Intelligent Keypad) is an intelligent airline agent application first developed in the late 1980s as a front end to mainframe computer reservations systems.

The Q.I.K. acronym was derived from its use of a separate keypad attached to the keyboard.

Page 47: All Nippon Airways

Sabre QikSolution

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will implement the Sabre Qik Solution to improve efficiency, cut costs, and enhance the customer and staff experience.

This technology is also powerful and flexible enough to support airlines such as ANA who use reservations systems from other technology providers. But On 2015, it will completely migrate to Altéa.

Altéa Costumer Management Solution

Offers full reservation, inventory and departure control capabilities, and delivers a uniquely integrated solution.

Will automate ANA’s entire customer management process, streamlining the passenger travel experience from beginning to end while also simplifying check-in, will be able to book passengers on alternative flights or re-book those passengers affected by disruption with the simple click of a button.
