All Saints’ Music Guild is pleased to present our 2016-2017 season of great music at All Saints’.

From ancient music to premières of modern works, both sacred and secular, at All Saints’ you will find an exciting variety of ways to experience the beauty of holiness through music. We invite you to join us for our special choral services and con-certs.

In addition to our Sunday morning service of Choral Eucharist at 10:00 a.m., the choirs of All Saints’ offer a wide variety of opportunities to worship amid the sacred sounds of great choral music of the ages, especially music of the Anglican/American choral tradition.

Some of these offerings are:

CHORAL EVENSONG The most uniquely Anglican of services, Evensong offers the opportunity to worship in meditation and prayer, as led by the choir. Music features sung prayers, glorious settings of the canticles and psalms, and hymns and anthems. These services are followed by a reception and the opportunity for fellowship.

MISSA MYSTICA Throughout the liturgical year, the choirs mark many of the major feast days with choral settings of the Holy Eucharist.

On these occasions the choir offers wonderful sung settings of the Eucharist, from Renaissance to contemporary, these great works have illuminated the liturgy through the ages. These services offer a special time for contemplation and reflec-tion.`

SERVICES IN THE STYLE OF TAIZÉ Amid the glow of a candlelit chapel, these quiet, occasional Wednesday evening services offer a unique way to worship. The service includes chants from the Taizé community, and other traditions, as well as readings and periods of silence.

CONCERTS Special occasions to encounter the transcendent in monumental works of choral and instrumental art. Because these works require performing forces that surpass normal liturgical limitations, admission fees apply for concerts only (except for All Saints’ Music Guild donors with season passes).

We look forward to welcoming you to All Saints!

England, Summer 2017

All Saints’ Choir has been invited to sing in residence at two of the most famous seats of the Anglican

choral tradition in England: Wells Cathedral and Salisbury Cathedral.

The Choir will sing the daily services of Evensong, as well as the principal Sunday morning services, for one week in each location during the month of August, 2017. It is anticipated that parishioners may be afforded the opportunity to join the trip as “choir pilgrims” as well.

Your support of the Music Guild this season, as well as upcoming events dedicated to the 2017 Choir Residencies, will ensure the success of this extraordinary opportunity to take the musical excellence of All Saints’ to the roots of our faith tradition!

Baroque scholars occasionally encounter historic data suggesting that certain musicians and artists might have been members of what we now know as the LGBTQ community. Until recently, members of that community were not able to live their lives openly. There is not enough scholarly evidence to have a clear history of the LGBTQ community prior to the twentieth century. Featuring music by Handel, Corelli, Lully, and A. Scarlatti, Tesserae will present a concert in honor of these immensely influential figures whose personal lives were shrouded by history - only glimpses of which are seen through Anecdotes and Innuendo.
